其中二萬四千掌建耶和華殿、六千督工師理民人、

於以色列族中、簡才能出眾者、立為民長、即千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長、隨時鞫民、事鉅則往告、事細則自鞫。

兩造具備、立於耶和華前、及在位之祭司刑官前。刑官諮諏之、如果妄證、欲害同儕、

以斯哈族、基拿尼及其子、為民長士師、理以色列外事。

祭司侍於爾上帝耶和華前、以供役事、有人擅行、而不聽從、並不服於刑官、則必死毋赦、如是絕惡於以色列族中。

則爾之長老刑官、必於四周之邑、度其遠近、

見祭司利未人、或在位之刑官、請其諮諏、為爾聽訟、

我遂於支派諸長中、簡智慧之人、眾所識者、立為牧伯、千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長、治理爾曹、我命士師云、聽訟於宗族賓旅間、以正理為折中、鞫事屬上帝、汝鞫人時、毋行偏視、無論尊卑、必聽其訟、不可畏人、如事關重大、則告於我、我為剖析、

居上位者、眾宜服之、非上帝則無居位者、凡居位者、皆上帝所命、與居位者敵、是為逆上帝命、逆者必受罪、有司不令善人畏、使惡人畏、爾欲不畏居位者、惟行善、可得其褒、居位者、上帝僕也、原以益爾、行惡宜畏之、以其為上帝僕、柄不徒操、刑加作惡之人、此其所以當服之、豈惟刑故、吾心使然也、是宜輸稅、居位者上帝之執事、恆執斯役、

則其主必攜之至士師、附門或門橛、以鑽貫耳、俾僕恆事其主。

在猶大諸邑立士師、告之曰、爾其謹恪、聽訟非為人、乃代耶和華、蓋聽訟之時、耶和華實鑒之、當畏耶和華、慎爾所為、凡行不義、以貌取人、賄賂是貪者、我上帝耶和華不悅。○約沙法使利未人、及祭司以色列族中最著者、歸耶路撒冷、代耶和華聽訟鞫事、告之曰、當夤畏耶和華、盡乃心、真實無妄、如爾邑中、同儕有訟事、為流血、為犯律例禁令、禮儀法度、爾當訓眾、勿違耶和華、恐其怒爾、及爾同儕、爾如是行、則可無過。凡奉耶和華之事、祭司長亞馬哩可統理。凡從王之事、猶大族長、以實馬利子西巴地、可統理。利未人可為爾長、強乃志、耶和華必祐善人。

謂爾曹聽訟、行私袒惡、將至何時兮、維彼孤子、貧乏煢獨、當為之伸冤兮、
