For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

因爾地不免有貧者、故我命爾曰、當開展爾手、周濟爾境內兄弟之困窮貧乏者、○

There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.

There will always be poor people in the land. So I’m commanding you to give freely to those who are poor and needy in your land. Open your hands to them.

For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you,‘ You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.

Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.For to[ their] power, I bear record, yea, and beyond[ their] power[ they were] willing of themselves;Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and[ take upon us] the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.And[ this they did], not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.Therefore, as ye abound in every[ thing, in] faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and[ in] all diligence, and[ in] your love to us,[ see] that ye abound in this grace also.I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all[ men], as every man had need.
