and none of the condemned things are to be found in your hands. Then the Lord will turn from his fierce anger, will show you mercy, and will have compassion on you. He will increase your numbers, as he promised on oath to your ancestors—

Don’t keep anything that should be destroyed. Then the Lord will turn away from his great anger. He will show you mercy. He’ll have deep concern for you. He’ll cause there to be many of you. That’s what he promised your people of long ago. He gave his word when he made the promise.

None of the devoted things shall stick to your hand, that the Lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger and show you mercy and have compassion on you and multiply you, as he swore to your fathers,

Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the Lord will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a large nation, just as he swore to your ancestors.

Nothing set apart for destruction is to remain in your hand, so that the LORD will turn from his burning anger and grant you mercy, show you compassion, and multiply you as he swore to your ancestors.

他们在亚干身上堆起一大堆石头，那些石头今天还在。耶和华这才息怒，因此那地方至今还叫亚割谷。

不可把可憎之物带到家里，否则你们会像它们一样被毁灭。你们要极其憎恶、厌弃它们，因为它们是当毁灭之物。

祂必改变你们被掳的境遇，怜悯你们，把你们从祂驱逐你们去的列国招聚回来。

你的后代必多如地上的尘沙，遍布四方，地上万族必因你和你的后代而蒙福。

你们要小心，不可私拿任何应当毁灭的东西，免得你们自取灭亡，并给以色列全营带来灾祸。

但上帝充满怜悯，赦免了他们的罪，没有毁灭他们。祂多次收住怒气，没有完全发出祂的烈怒。

我要与他们订立永存的平安之约，使他们安居，人丁兴旺。我的圣所要永远设立在他们当中。

主尽管使人忧伤，祂依然怜悯人，因为祂有无限的慈爱。

从前谢拉的曾孙亚干私自留下那些耶和华吩咐要毁灭的东西，以致耶和华的烈怒临到以色列全体会众，因他的罪而死的不只他一个人！”

对摩西说：“把为首的人都抓起来，当着我的面在大白天处死他们，以消除我对以色列人的怒气。”

以色列人在当毁灭之物的事上犯了罪。因为犹大支派中谢拉的曾孙、撒底的孙子、迦米的儿子亚干拿了一些本该毁灭的东西，耶和华便向以色列人发怒。

对他说：“耶和华说，‘你既然愿意把你的儿子，你的独生子献给我，我凭自己向你起誓，我必赐福给你，使你的后裔多如天上的星和海边的沙。你的后裔必占领仇敌的城池，

祂会爱你们，赐福给你们，使你们在祂向你们祖先起誓要赐给你们的土地上子孙昌盛，牛羊成群，收获丰富的谷物、新酒和油。

但那些爱我、遵守我诫命的人，我必以慈爱待他们，直到千代。

凡永远献上的，不论是人、牲畜或是田产，都不可卖掉，也不可赎回，因为这一切都属于耶和华，是至圣的。凡永远献上的人不可被赎回，必须被处死。

如果有人不爱主，这人可咒可诅！主啊，我愿你来！

之后，约书亚起誓说：“重建耶利哥城的人必定在耶和华面前受咒诅，他立地基的时候必死长子，建城门的时候必丧幼子。”
