You must not worship the Lord your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.

他們棄絕了永恆主的律例和他跟他們列祖所立的約，又棄絕了他所警諭他們的話，去隨從虛無的神，而成為虛妄，又隨從他們四圍的外國人、就是永恆主曾吩咐不可照他們的樣子行的。他們撇棄了永恆主他們的上帝一切的誡命，竟為自己造了兩個牛犢的鑄像，又造了亞舍拉神木，去敬拜天上的萬象，又事奉巴力。他們將自己的兒女用火燒獻為祭，又占卜，又觀兆頭，又出賣自己、去行永恆主所看為壞的事，而惹他發怒。

你們不可照他們那樣來服事永恆主你們的上帝。

這樣、我就使你的淫蕩和你從埃及地染來的淫亂止息，使你不舉目瞻仰他們，不再懷念着埃及。

『你到了永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的地那時候，不可仿傚那些外國人可厭惡的事去學着行。在你中間不可有人將兒子或女兒用火燒獻為祭，也不可有占卜的、算命的、觀兆頭的、行邪術的、

你進去取得他們的地、並不是因你的美德，也不是因你心裏的正直，乃是因這些國的人的惡，永恆主你的上帝才把他們從你面前趕出，又是因永恆主要實行他向你列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、所起誓的話。

故此你們要守我的律例和典章；這一切可厭惡的事、無論是本地人、是在你們中間寄居的外僑、都不可作，（因為這一切可厭惡的事、在你們以前那地的人都行了，而地就蒙了不潔；）免得你們使那地蒙不潔時、地就把你們吐出，像吐出你們以前的列國人一樣。因為凡作這些可厭惡之事的任一樣的、無論何人都必須從他們族人中被剪除。所以你們要守我所吩咐守的，免得你們實行這些可厭惡的規例、就是你們以前的人所作的、因而蒙了不潔；我永恆主是你們的上帝。』

他行永恆主所看為壞的事，像永恆主從以色列人面前所驅逐的外國人所行厭惡的事一樣。

不但如此，眾祭司領袖和人民也大大地不忠實，像外國人所行一切可憎惡的事那樣；他們污瀆了永恆主的殿、就是永恆主在耶路撒冷所分別為聖的。

難道永恆主還喜悅千千的公羊，或萬萬的油河麼？難道我可為我的過犯獻我的長子？為我的罪獻我身所生的果子麼？

不可將你的後裔燒獻為祭給摩洛；也不可褻瀆你的上帝的名；我是永恆主。

『你要對以色列人說：凡以色列人、和在以色列中寄居的外僑、將自己的後裔獻給摩洛的、總必須被處死；這地的人要扔石頭把他砍死。

瑪拿西行永恆主所看為壞的事，照永恆主從以色列人面前所趕出的外國人所行可厭惡的事去行。

你們奉上供品，使你們的兒子經過火而獻為祭的時候，仍將你們一切的偶像去玷污自己直到今日。以色列家啊，我哪裏要給你們求問呢？主永恆主發神諭說，我指着永活的我來起誓，我是不讓你們求問的。
