嗣後、爾上帝耶和華導爾入所得之地、必以純嘏宣播於其哩心山、以咒詛彰明於以八山。

及至主爾之天主導爾入所將得之地、當以論福之言、宣告於基利心山、以論禍之言、宣告於以八山、

When the Lord your God has brought you into the land you are entering to possess, you are to proclaim on Mount Gerizim the blessings, and on Mount Ebal the curses.

The Lord your God will bring you into the land to take it over. When he does, you must announce the blessings from Mount Gerizim. You must announce the curses from Mount Ebal.

And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.

“ When the Lord your God brings you into the land and helps you take possession of it, you must pronounce the blessing at Mount Gerizim and the curse at Mount Ebal.

Then Joshua built on Mount Ebal an altar to the Lord, the God of Israel,as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded the Israelites. He built it according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses— an altar of uncut stones, on which no iron tool had been used. On it they offered to the Lord burnt offerings and sacrificed fellowship offerings.There, in the presence of the Israelites, Joshua wrote on stones a copy of the law of Moses.All the Israelites, with their elders, officials and judges, were standing on both sides of the ark of the covenant of the Lord, facing the Levitical priests who carried it. Both the foreigners living among them and the native- born were there. Half of the people stood in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, as Moses the servant of the Lord had formerly commanded when he gave instructions to bless the people of Israel.Afterward, Joshua read all the words of the law— the blessings and the curses— just as it is written in the Book of the Law.There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua did not read to the whole assembly of Israel, including the women and children, and the foreigners who lived among them. When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.The Levites shall recite to all the people of Israel in a loud voice:“ Cursed is anyone who makes an idol— a thing detestable to the Lord, the work of skilled hands— and sets it up in secret.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who dishonors their father or mother.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who moves their neighbor’s boundary stone.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he dishonors his father’s bed.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who has sexual relations with any animal.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his mother- in- law.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who kills their neighbor secretly.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”“ Cursed is anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!” (niv)
