『你只要謹慎、極力謹守你自己，免得你忘記你親眼見過的事，免得這些事儘你一生的日子離開你的心：你總要講給你的子子孫孫知道——你在何烈山站在永恆主你的上帝面前那一天，永恆主怎樣對我說：「你要召集人民，我要叫他們聽我的話，使他們儘在地上活着的日子可以學習敬畏我，也可以教訓他們的兒女。

弟子啊，你若接受我的訓言，將我的誡命珍藏於心中，

眾弟子啊，來，來聽我；我要把敬畏永恆主的道理教訓你們。

惟獨活人、活人才會稱謝你，像我今日一樣；為父的總要使兒女知道你的忠信。

他在雅各中立了法度，在以色列中設了律法，是他吩咐我們祖宗、要教訓他們子孫，使將要出生的後代子孫可以曉得；讓他們也起來去對他們子孫敘述，

弟子啊，你們要聽從師父的管教，要留心聽，來認識明達；因為我給你們好的心得；我的指教你們不可捨棄。我做兒子在我父親身邊時、嬌嫩嫩，在我母親眼中獨一可愛；父親指教我說：『我的話、你的心要持守着；我的誡命、你要遵守，便得以活着。要獲得智慧，要獲得明達；不可忘記，不可偏離我口中的訓言；不可捨棄智慧，智慧就保守你；務要愛她，她就守護你。智慧的開端就是：你要獲得智慧；要用你一切所得的去獲得明達。高舉智慧，智慧就使你高陞；懷抱智慧，智慧就使你尊榮。她必將華冠加於你頭上，將榮冕交付與你。』弟子啊，聽吧！接受我的訓言吧！你一生的歲數就必增多。我指教了你走智慧之道路，我帶領了你行正直之轍跡。你行走時，你的腳步必不狹窄；你若奔跑，也不至於跌倒。要堅持受管教，不可放鬆；要恪守它，因為那是你的生命。惡人的路徑你不可進；壞人的路你不可行。要躲避；不可從那裏經過；要轉身離開、而過去。因為他們若不行惡，就睡不着覺；若不使人跌倒，其安眠就被奪去。因為他們喫的是奸惡飯，他們喝的是強暴酒。但義人的路徑就像發亮的光，越照越明，直到大白日。而惡人的路卻如幽暗；他們竟不知因何而跌倒。弟子啊，你要留心聽我的話；我的訓言你要傾耳以聽；不可使它偏離你的眼；要守住於你心中。因為對得着它的、那就是生命；就是全身之安康。你要以大警覺守護你的心；因為生命之泉源由它而出。你要除掉邪曲的口，要遠棄乖僻的嘴。你的眼要向前正視着，你的眼光要向前面直看。要修平你腳下的轍跡，你一切所行的就得以穩定。不可偏向右或偏向左；要使你的腳遠離壞事。
