摩西手裡拿著兩塊約版下西奈山，他不知道自己因為曾與耶和華說話而臉上發光。

他把約版放在約櫃裡，橫杠穿在約櫃的兩旁，施恩座放在約櫃上，

我要把你摔碎的那兩塊石版上的話重新寫在你鑿的石版上。你要把它們放在櫃子裡。』

約書亞又在約旦河床抬約櫃的祭司站立的地方立了十二塊石頭。石頭至今還在那裡。

把我將要賜給你的兩塊約版放在櫃裡。

橫杠相當長，在至聖所前面的聖所中可以看見橫杠的末端，在聖所外面看不見。橫杠至今仍在那裡。約櫃裡除了兩塊石版，沒有別的東西。石版是以色列人離開埃及後，耶和華在何烈山跟他們立約時，摩西放進去的。
