And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.

So you also must love outsiders. Remember that you yourselves were outsiders in Egypt.

Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt.

You are also to love the resident alien, since you were resident aliens in the land of Egypt.

So show your love for the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Love ye therefore the sojourner; for ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

“ You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

‘ And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him.The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.

If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,and one of you says to them,“ Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

And He said to him,“ You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”Then Jesus answered and said:“ A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him,‘ Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”And he said,“ He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him,“ Go and do likewise.”

But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
