Yet the Lord set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations— as it is today.

But the Lord loved your people of long ago very much. You are their children. And he chose you above all the other nations. His love and his promise remain with you to this very day.

Yet the Lord set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day.

Yet the Lord chose your ancestors as the objects of his love. And he chose you, their descendants, above all other nations, as is evident today.

Yet the LORD had his heart set on your ancestors and loved them. He chose their descendants after them— he chose you out of all the peoples, as it is today.

Yet the Lord set His affection on your fathers, to love them, and He chose their descendants after them, you over all the other peoples, as it is this day.

The Lord delighted only in your fathers, to love them; and He chose their descendants after them, you above all peoples, as it is this day.

耶和华若是喜悦我们，就必把我们领进那地，把那地赐给我们，那地原是流奶与蜜的地。

耶和华喜爱你们，拣选你们，并不是因为你们的人数比别的民族多，其实你们的人数在万族中是最少的；而是因为耶和华对你们的爱，又因为他遵守他向你们的列祖所起的誓，他才用大能的手把你们领出来，把你们从为奴之家，从埃及王法老的手里拯救出来。

正如经上所记的：“我爱雅各，却恶以扫。”既是这样，我们可以说什么呢？神不公平吗？绝对不会！因为他对摩西说：“我要怜悯谁，就怜悯谁；我要恩待谁，就恩待谁。”这样看来，既不是出于人意，也不是由于人为（“人为”原文作“奔走”或“奔跑”），只在于那怜悯人的神。经上有话对法老说：“我把你兴起来，是要藉着你显出我的大能，并且使我的名传遍全地。”这样看来，他愿意怜悯谁就怜悯谁，愿意谁刚硬就使谁刚硬。这样，你会对我说：“那么他为什么责怪人呢？有谁抗拒他的旨意呢？”你这个人哪，你是谁，竟敢跟神顶嘴呢？被造的怎么可以对造他的说：“你为什么把我做成这个样子呢？”陶匠难道没有权用同一团的泥，又做贵重的、又做卑贱的器皿吗？如果神有意要显明他的忿怒，彰显他的大能，而多多容忍那可怒、预备遭毁灭的器皿，为了要使他丰盛的荣耀，彰显在那蒙恩、早已预备要得荣耀的器皿上，这又有什么不可呢？
