I had stayed on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights, just as I did the first time. The Lord listened to me that time also. He didn’t want to destroy you.

“我又像从前在山上住了四十昼夜。那次耶和华也应允我，不忍将你灭绝。

“我又像先前一样在山上停留了四十昼夜。这一次耶和华也应允我，不将你灭绝。

“我又像先前一样在山上停留了四十昼夜。这一次耶和华也应允我，不将你灭绝。

“和前一次一样，我又在山上待了四十昼夜，耶和华又听了我的祈求，答应不毁灭你们。

“我又像以前那样，在山上停留了四十昼夜；那一次耶和华也听了我的呼求，他不愿把你毁灭。

我居於山、四十晝夜如昔、此次耶和華又復垂聽、不殲滅爾、

我居於山、四旬晝夜、與昔無異、耶和華復允我祈、不加殲滅於爾。

我又如昔居於山四十晝夜、斯時主又俯聽我、不忍滅爾、

Now I had stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights, as I did the first time, and the Lord listened to me at this time also. It was not his will to destroy you.

“ I myself stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights, and the Lord listened to me that time also. The Lord was unwilling to destroy you.

“ As for me, I stayed on the mountain in the Lord’s presence for forty days and nights, as I had done the first time. And once again the Lord listened to my pleas and agreed not to destroy you.

“ I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights like the first time. The LORD also listened to me on this occasion; he agreed not to annihilate you.

“ I, moreover, stayed on the mountain for forty days and forty nights like the first time, and the Lord listened to me that time also; the Lord was not willing to destroy you.

“ As at the first time, I stayed in the mountain forty days and forty nights; the Lord also heard me at that time, and the Lord chose not to destroy you.

And I stayed in the mount, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights: and Jehovah hearkened unto me that time also; Jehovah would not destroy thee.

“ I stayed on the mountain 40 days and 40 nights like the first time. The Lord also listened to me on this occasion; He agreed not to annihilate you.

And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also,[ and] the LORD would not destroy thee.

As for me, I stayed at the mountain as I did the first time, forty days and nights. The LORD listened to me that time as well and decided not to destroy you.

I stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights; and Yahweh listened to me that time also. Yahweh would not destroy you.

I lay down in front of the Lord with my face toward the ground for 40 days and 40 nights. I did it because the Lord had said he would destroy you.

Moses was there with the Lord for 40 days and 40 nights. He didn’t eat any food or drink any water. The Lord wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant law. Those words are the Ten Commandments.

Then once again I fell down flat in front of the Lord with my face toward the ground. I lay there for 40 days and 40 nights. I didn’t eat any food or drink any water. You had committed a terrible sin. You had done an evil thing in the Lord’ s sight. You had made him angry.I was afraid of the Lord’ s great anger. He was so angry with you he wanted to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me again.

The Lord said to Moses,“ I will do exactly what you have asked. I am pleased with you. And I know your name. I know all about you.”

“ He saved others,” they said.“ But he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross! Then we will believe in him.

Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. He stayed on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights.

Then the Lord took pity on his people. He didn’t destroy them as he had said he would.

The Lord replied to Moses. The Lord said,“ I will erase out of my book only the names of those who have sinned against me.Now go. Lead the people to the place I spoke about. My angel will go ahead of you. But when the time comes for me to punish, I will punish them for their sin.”

At that time I made my appeal to the Lord. I said,“ Lord and King, you have begun to show me how great you are. You have shown me how strong your hand is. You do great works and mighty acts. There isn’t any god in heaven or on earth who can do what you do.Let me go across the Jordan River. Let me see the good land beyond it. I want to see that fine hill country and Lebanon.”But the Lord was angry with me because of what you did. He wouldn’t listen to me.“ That is enough!” the Lord said.“ Do not speak to me anymore about this matter.Go up to the highest slopes of Pisgah. Look west and north and south and east. Look at the land with your own eyes. But you are not going to go across this Jordan River.
