“ But the LORD said to me,‘ Tell them: Don’t go up and fight, for I am not with you to keep you from being defeated by your enemies.’

主命我曰、當告民曰、毋往毋戰、我耶和華不在爾中、恐敗於敵、

But the Lord said to me,“ Tell them,‘ Do not go up and fight, because I will not be with you. You will be defeated by your enemies.’”

But the Lord spoke to me. He said,“ Tell them,‘ Do not go up and fight. I will not be with you. Your enemies will win the battle over you.’ ”

And the Lord said to me,‘ Say to them, Do not go up or fight, for I am not in your midst, lest you be defeated before your enemies.’

“ But the Lord told me to tell you,‘ Do not attack, for I am not with you. If you go ahead on your own, you will be crushed by your enemies.’

But the Lord said to me,‘ Say to them,“ Do not go up nor fight, for I am not among you; otherwise you will be defeated by your enemies.” ’

“ And the Lord said to me,‘ Tell them,“ Do not go up nor fight, for I am not among you; lest you be defeated before your enemies.”’

And Jehovah said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.

“ But the Lord said to me,‘ Tell them: Don’t go up and fight, for I am not with you to keep you from being defeated by your enemies.’

And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I[ am] not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.

But the LORD told me:“ Tell them this:‘ Do not go up and fight, because I will not be with you and you will be defeated by your enemies.’”

Yahweh said to me,“ Tell them,‘ Don’t go up and don’t fight; for I am not among you, lest you be struck before your enemies.’”

So the Philistines fought, and Israel was defeated, and each man fled to his tent. The slaughter was severe— thirty thousand of the Israelite foot soldiers fell.

But Moses responded,“ Why are you going against the LORD’s command? It won’t succeed.Don’t go, because the LORD is not among you and you will be defeated by your enemies.The Amalekites and Canaanites are right in front of you, and you will fall by the sword. The LORD won’t be with you, since you have turned from following him.”

Even if they raise children, I will bereave them of each one. Yes, woe to them when I depart from them!

Indeed, the LORD’s arm is not too weak to save, and his ear is not too deaf to hear.But your iniquities are separating you from your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not listen.

The Philistines lined up in battle formation against Israel, and as the battle intensified, Israel was defeated by the Philistines, who struck down about four thousand men on the battlefield.

What can I say, Lord, now that Israel has turned its back and run from its enemies?When the Canaanites and all who live in the land hear about this, they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. Then what will you do about your great name?”The LORD then said to Joshua,“ Stand up! Why have you fallen facedown?Israel has sinned. They have violated my covenant that I appointed for them. They have taken some of what was set apart. They have stolen, deceived, and put those things with their own belongings.This is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies. They will turn their backs and run from their enemies, because they have been set apart for destruction. I will no longer be with you unless you remove from among you what is set apart.“ Go and consecrate the people. Tell them to consecrate themselves for tomorrow, for this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: There are things that are set apart among you, Israel. You will not be able to stand against your enemies until you remove what is set apart.

One thousand will flee at the threat of one, at the threat of five you will flee, until you remain like a solitary pole on a mountaintop or a banner on a hill.

I will turn against you, so that you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee even though no one is pursuing you.
