我同儕使我喪膽、言斯土之民較我軀幹雄偉、城垣廣大、高可參天、在彼有亞納子、我何能往。

我们上哪里去呢？我们的弟兄使我们的心消化，说那地的民比我们又大又高，城邑又广大又坚固，高得顶天，并且我们在那里看见亚衲族的人。’

我何往始可、或作我何能往我兄弟使我喪膽、言彼地之民、較我眾多、身軀雄偉、其城廣大鞏固、崇高接天、在彼又見亞衲族人、

Where can we go? Our brothers have made our hearts melt in fear. They say,‘ The people are stronger and taller than we are; the cities are large, with walls up to the sky. We even saw the Anakites there.’”

Where can we go? The men who checked out the land have made us afraid. They say,‘ The people are stronger and taller than we are. The cities are large. They have walls that reach up to the sky. We even saw the Anakites there.’ ”

Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, saying,“ The people are greater and taller than we. The cities are great and fortified up to heaven. And besides, we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.”’

Where can we go? Our brothers have demoralized us with their report. They tell us,“ The people of the land are taller and more powerful than we are, and their towns are large, with walls rising high into the sky! We even saw giants there— the descendants of Anak!”’

Where can we go? Our brothers have made us lose heart, saying: The people are larger and taller than we are; the cities are large, fortified to the heavens. We also saw the descendants of the Anakim there.’

Where can we go up? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, by saying,“ The people are bigger and taller than we; the cities are large and fortified up to heaven. And besides, we saw the sons of the Anakim there.” ’

Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying,“ The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.”’

What is going to happen to us? Our brothers have drained away our courage by describing people who are more numerous and taller than we are, and great cities whose defenses appear to be as high as heaven itself! Moreover, they said they saw Anakites there.”

以色列族、尚其聽之、今日爾渡約但、有較爾強大之民、其城垣廣大、高可參天、爾將得之。彼為亞納後裔、軀幹雄偉、爾不聞諺云、孰能敵亞納人乎。

雖然、居民強悍、城垣廣大、我見亞納子於彼。亞馬力族居南方、赫人、耶布士人、亞摩哩人居山、迦南人瀕海與約但河居焉。民怨於摩西前、迦勒止之曰、我儕能克其地、當往取之。偕行者曰、彼強於我、我不可往、遂讒言於以色列族中曰、我所窺察之地、居民受其害、我所見之人、軀幹雄偉、在彼見偉丈夫、亞納子、我自較之、形猶蟿蟲、彼之視我亦若是。

哩乏音子以實庇諾、佩新刃、執銅戟、重百五十兩、欲殺大闢。西魯雅子亞庇篩救之、殺非利士人、於是大闢僕從誓曰、斯後爾斷不可往戰、恐滅以色列族之光。嗣後又與非利士人戰於坷伯、戶沙人、西庇該殺哩乏音子撒弗。又與非利士人戰於坷伯、伯利恆人雅耳子耳哈難、殺迦特人、坷利亞弟、厥槍之柯、大如織器之梁。又戰於迦特、有哩乏音子、形體傀偉、手足各有六指、共指二十有四。侮以色列族時、大闢兄示每子約拿單殺之、上四人俱哩乏音之子、居迦特邑、為大闢與臣僕所殺。

以希伯崙予迦勒、踐摩西前言、迦勒逐亞納三子。○

亞納人在以色列地無遺種、惟於迦薩、迦特、亞實突有之。

迦勒驅亞納三子示篩、亞希慢、達買、

偕行者使民喪膽、惟我竭忠遵從我上帝耶和華。

以東諸伯必觳觫、摩押英豪必戰慄、迦南居民必喪膽。

我聞之喪膽、毫無銳氣、不敢敵爾、蓋爾上帝耶和華、乃天上地下之上帝、

爾手疲膽喪、

曰彼地之民恐懼喪膽、故我知耶和華必以斯土付於我手。

謂其人曰、耶和華曾以此地錫爾、我所素知、斯土之人懼爾、甚至喪膽、

如彼問爾、何為太息、必曰、因風聞將來之事、眾人喪膽、手疲膝倦、懦弱如水、禍患迫至、主耶和華已言之矣。

族長亦必告民曰、有人畏葸怯心、則必旋歸、恐其同儕喪膽、與彼無異。

攻居希伯崙之迦南人、殺示篩、亞希幔、達買、昔希伯崙名基列亞巴。
