How can I bear by myself the weight and burden of you and your strife?

But you are such a heavy load to carry! How can I deal with all your problems and bickering?

not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God,

to the one a stench from death to death, to the other a sweet aroma from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

Now, Yahweh my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am just a little child. I don’t know how to go out or come in.Your servant is among your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can’t be numbered or counted for multitude.Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of yours?”

Then you spoke in vision to your saints, and said,“ I have given strength to the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people.

Moses said to Yahweh,“ Why have you treated your servant so badly? Why haven’t I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?Have I conceived all this people? Have I brought them out, that you should tell me,‘ Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which you swore to their fathers?’Where could I get meat to give all these people? For they weep before me, saying,‘ Give us meat, that we may eat.’I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.If you treat me this way, please kill me right now, if I have found favor in your sight; and don’t let me see my wretchedness.”

I spoke to you at that time, saying,“ I am not able to bear you myself alone.

On the next day, Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Moses from the morning to the evening.When Moses’ father- in- law saw all that he did to the people, he said,“ What is this thing that you do for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand around you from morning to evening?”Moses said to his father- in- law,“ Because the people come to me to inquire of God.When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.”
