How can I bear by myself the weight and burden of you and your strife?

But you are such a heavy load to carry! How can I deal with all your problems and bickering?

It is not that we are competent in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our competence is from God.

To some we are an aroma of death leading to death, but to others, an aroma of life leading to life. And who is competent for this?

“ Lord my God, You have now made Your servant king in my father David’s place. Yet I am just a youth with no experience in leadership.Your servant is among Your people You have chosen, a people too numerous to be numbered or counted.So give Your servant an obedient heart to judge Your people and to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

You once spoke in a vision to Your loyal ones and said:“ I have granted help to a warrior; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

So Moses asked the Lord,“ Why have You brought such trouble on Your servant? Why are You angry with me, and why do You burden me with all these people?Did I conceive all these people? Did I give them birth so You should tell me,‘ Carry them at your breast, as a nursing woman carries a baby,’ to the land that You swore to give their fathers?Where can I get meat to give all these people? For they are crying to me:‘ Give us meat to eat!’I can’t carry all these people by myself. They are too much for me.If You are going to treat me like this, please kill me right now. If You are pleased with me, don’t let me see my misery anymore.”

“ I said to you at that time: I can’t bear the responsibility for you on my own.

The next day Moses sat down to judge the people, and they stood around Moses from morning until evening.When Moses’ father-in-law saw everything he was doing for them he asked,“ What is this thing you’re doing for the people? Why are you alone sitting as judge, while all the people stand around you from morning until evening?”Moses replied to his father-in-law,“ Because the people come to me to inquire of God.Whenever they have a dispute, it comes to me, and I make a decision between one man and another. I teach them God’s statutes and laws.”
