He was led away after an unjust trial– but who even cared? Indeed, he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the rebellion of his own people he was wounded.

Jesus said to him,“ Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”

But with an overwhelming flood he will make a complete end of Nineveh; he will drive his enemies into darkness.

He said to them,“ Elijah does indeed come first, and restores all things. And why is it written that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be despised?

Wasn’t it necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and enter into his glory?”

For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and surround you and close in on you from every side.They will demolish you– you and your children within your walls– and they will not leave within you one stone on top of another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”

And he said to them,“ Do you see all these things? I tell you the truth, not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”

His sons will wage war, mustering a large army which will advance like an overflowing river and carrying the battle all the way to the enemy’s fortress.

The roof of my mouth is as dry as a piece of pottery; my tongue sticks to my gums. You set me in the dust of death.

and said to them,“ Thus it stands written that the Christ would suffer and would rise from the dead on the third day,

Then the LORD said:“ Name him‘ Not My People’( Lo-Ammi), because you are not my people and I am not your God.”

“ Who is this that rises like the Nile, like its streams turbulent at flood stage?

And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”( Now he said this to indicate clearly what kind of death he was going to die.)Then the crowd responded,“ We have heard from the law that the Christ will remain forever. How can you say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God.

“ The kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son.

I will not speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me,

They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away as captives among all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come.For nation will rise up in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.All these things are the beginning of birth pains.“ Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and will kill you. You will be hated by all the nations because of my name.Then many will be led into sin, and they will betray one another and hate one another.And many false prophets will appear and deceive many,and because lawlessness will increase so much, the love of many will grow cold.But the person who endures to the end will be saved.And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole inhabited earth as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Because of this the earth will quake, and all who live in it will mourn. The whole earth will rise like the River Nile, it will surge upward and then grow calm, like the Nile in Egypt.

He will confirm a covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of that week he will bring sacrifices and offerings to a halt. On the wing of abominations will come one who destroys, until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys.”

Look, your house is left to you desolate!

The sovereign LORD who commands armies will do this. He touches the earth and it dissolves; all who live on it mourn. The whole earth rises like the River Nile, and then grows calm like the Nile in Egypt.

For to this you were called, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving an example for you to follow in his steps.

The king was furious! He sent his soldiers, and they put those murderers to death and set their city on fire.

Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit.

His intention will be to come with the strength of his entire kingdom, and he will form alliances. He will give the king of the south a daughter in marriage in order to destroy the kingdom, but it will not turn out to his advantage.

“ As for these things that you are gazing at, the days will come when not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”

So look, the sovereign master is bringing up against them the turbulent and mighty waters of the Euphrates River– the king of Assyria and all his majestic power. It will reach flood stage and overflow its banks.

They brought forward false witnesses who said,“ This man does not stop saying things against this holy place and the law.For we have heard him saying that Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us( because it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.

( Now he did not say this on his own, but because he was high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the Jewish nation,and not for the Jewish nation only, but to gather together into one the children of God who are scattered.)
