O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, let thine anger and thy wrath, I pray thee, be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are round about us.

Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.

Lord, you saved your people before. So turn your great anger away from Jerusalem again. After all, it is your city. It’s your holy mountain. You have made those who live around us think little of Jerusalem and your people. That’s because we have sinned. Our people before us did evil things too.

“ O Lord, according to all your righteous acts, let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy hill, because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a byword among all who are around us.

In view of all your faithful mercies, Lord, please turn your furious anger away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain. All the neighboring nations mock Jerusalem and your people because of our sins and the sins of our ancestors.

Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, may your anger and wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors, Jerusalem and your people have become an object of ridicule to all those around us.

Lord, according to all your righteousness, let your anger and please let your wrath be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a reproach to all who are around us.

Thus saith Jehovah: I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called The city of truth; and the mountain of Jehovah of hosts, The holy mountain.

So shall ye know that I am Jehovah your God, dwelling in Zion my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.

In thee, O Jehovah, do I take refuge; Let me never be put to shame: Deliver me in thy righteousness.

And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before Jehovah my God for the holy mountain of my God;

All that pass by clap their hands at thee; They hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men called The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?All thine enemies have opened their mouth wide against thee; They hiss and gnash the teeth; they say, We have swallowed her up; Certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.

His foundation is in the holy mountains.Jehovah loveth the gates of Zion More than all the dwellings of Jacob.Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God.[ Selah

Deliver me in thy righteousness, and rescue me: Bow down thine ear unto me, and save me.

Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them, for I Jehovah thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me,

We are become a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and derision to them that are round about us.

And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary unto me,

Woe unto you! for ye build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.So ye are witnesses and consent unto the works of your fathers: for they killed them, and ye build their tombs.Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send unto them prophets and apostles; and some of them they shall kill and persecute;that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;from the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary: yea, I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.

I will even give them up to be tossed to and fro among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil; to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places whither I shall drive them.

because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And I will pursue after them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be tossed to and fro among all the kingdoms of the earth, to be an execration, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them;

Jehovah maketh poor, and maketh rich: He bringeth low, he also lifteth up.

if so be that it is a righteous thing with God to recompense affliction to them that afflict you,

then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.And though this house is so high, yet shall every one that passeth by it be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath Jehovah done thus unto this land, and to this house?and they shall answer, Because they forsook Jehovah their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath Jehovah brought all this evil upon them.

Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore she is become as an unclean thing; All that honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: Yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward.Her filthiness was in her skirts; she remembered not her latter end; Therefore is she come down wonderfully; she hath no comforter: Behold, O Jehovah, my affliction; for the enemy hath magnified himself.

Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

We have sinned with our fathers, We have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; They remembered not the multitude of thy lovingkindnesses, But were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, That he might make his mighty power to be known.He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up: So he led them through the depths, as through a wilderness.And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.And the waters covered their adversaries; There was not one of them left.Then believed they his words; They sang his praise.They soon forgat his works; They waited not for his counsel,But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert.And he gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul.They envied Moses also in the camp, And Aaron the saint of Jehovah.The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And covered the company of Abiram.And a fire was kindled in their company; The flame burned up the wicked.They made a calf in Horeb, And worshipped a molten image.Thus they changed their glory For the likeness of an ox that eateth grass.They forgat God their Saviour, Who had done great things in Egypt,Wondrous works in the land of Ham, And terrible things by the Red Sea.Therefore he said that he would destroy them, Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.Yea, they despised the pleasant land, They believed not his word,But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah.Therefore he sware unto them, That he would overthrow them in the wilderness,And that he would overthrow their seed among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.They joined themselves also unto Baal- peor, And ate the sacrifices of the dead.Thus they provoked him to anger with their doings; And the plague brake in upon them.Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment; And so the plague was stayed.And that was reckoned unto him for righteousness, Unto all generations for evermore.They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, So that it went ill with Moses for their sakes;Because they were rebellious against his spirit, And he spake unadvisedly with his lips.They did not destroy the peoples, As Jehovah commanded them,But mingled themselves with the nations, And learned their works,And served their idols, Which became a snare unto them.Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons,And shed innocent blood, Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, Whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood.Thus were they defiled with their works, And played the harlot in their doings.Therefore was the wrath of Jehovah kindled against his people, And he abhorred his inheritance.And he gave them into the hand of the nations; And they that hated them ruled over them.Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were brought into subjection under their hand.Many times did he deliver them; But they were rebellious in their counsel, And were brought low in their iniquity.Nevertheless he regarded their distress, When he heard their cry:And he remembered for them his covenant, And repented according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.He made them also to be pitied Of all those that carried them captive.Save us, O Jehovah our God, And gather us from among the nations, To give thanks unto thy holy name, And to triumph in thy praise.Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye Jehovah.

Hear my prayer, O Jehovah; give ear to my supplications: In thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.

and foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give it unto his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous.

Moreover I will make thee a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.

Be not wroth very sore, O Jehovah, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, look, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.Thy holy cities are become a wilderness, Zion is become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned with fire; and all our pleasant places are laid waste.

For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bondage; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him; remember from Shittim unto Gilgal, that ye may know the righteous acts of Jehovah.

Wherefore ye witness to yourselves, that ye are sons of them that slew the prophets.Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
