You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing on us great disaster. Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem.

The warnings you gave us and our rulers have come true. You have brought great trouble on us. Nothing like what has been done to Jerusalem has ever happened anywhere else on earth.

The LORD has done what he planned; he has accomplished his decree, which he ordained in days of old. He has demolished without compassion, letting the enemy gloat over you and exalting the horn of your adversaries.

What can I say on your behalf? What can I compare you to, Daughter Jerusalem? What can I liken you to, so that I may console you, Virgin Daughter Zion? For your ruin is as vast as the sea. Who can heal you?

For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass away from the law until all things are accomplished.

For at that time there will be great distress, the kind that hasn’t taken place from the beginning of the world until now and never will again.

They saw false visions and their divinations were a lie. They claimed,“ This is the LORD’s declaration,” when the LORD did not send them, yet they wait for the fulfillment of their message.

So now, kings, be wise; receive instruction, you judges of the earth.

by me, princes lead, as do nobles and all righteous judges.

I looked out in the night and saw a man riding on a chestnut horse. He was standing among the myrtle trees in the valley. Behind him were chestnut, brown, and white horses.

But didn’t my words and my statutes that I commanded my servants the prophets overtake your ancestors?’” So the people repented and said,“ As the LORD of Armies decided to deal with us for our ways and our deeds, so he has dealt with us.”

“ This is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: You have seen all the disaster I brought against Jerusalem and all Judah’s cities. Look, they are a ruin today without an inhabitant in thembecause of the evil they committed to anger me, by going and burning incense to serve other gods that they, you, and your ancestors did not know.So I sent you all my servants the prophets time and time again, saying,‘ Don’t commit this detestable action that I hate.’But they did not listen or pay attention; they did not turn from their evil or stop burning incense to other gods.So my fierce wrath poured out and burned in Judah’s cities and Jerusalem’s streets so that they became the desolate ruin they are today.

I have known only you out of all the clans of the earth; therefore, I will punish you for all your iniquities.

“ How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? SelahProvide justice for the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.

The punishment of my dear people is greater than that of Sodom, which was overthrown in an instant without a hand laid on it.

For I say that Christ became a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises to the fathers,

So give your servant a receptive heart to judge your people and to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of yours?”

For those will be days of tribulation, the kind that hasn’t been from the beginning of creation until now and never will be again.

because these are days of vengeance to fulfill all the things that are written.

a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and total darkness, like the dawn spreading over the mountains; a great and strong people appears, such as never existed in ages past and never will again in all the generations to come.
