古時天主藉諸先知屢次多方諭列祖、

主藉諸先知與諸先見、警戒以色列人及猶大人曰、當棄惡行、守我誡命法度、循我所命爾列祖、又藉我僕眾先知授爾之律法、斯民不聽、強項不馴、不信主其天主、與其列祖無異、違棄主之律例、及主與其列祖所立之約、並主警戒之言、從虛無之神、行虛妄之事、主命之勿效四周異邦人所為、彼反從之、

主降臨西乃山、自天訓之、賜以正直之典章、真實之律法、至善之條例、誡命、示之安息聖日、託主之僕摩西命之以誡命、條例、律法、其饑時、主賜糧降於天、其渴時、主為之使水出於磐、主亦命之往得所誓必賜之地、當時之民、即我列祖、狂妄強項、不聽主命、不欲順從、不追念主為其所行之奇事、強項背逆、自立一長、欲返為奴之地、惟主為天主赦宥、仁慈、矜憐、容忍、大施恩惠、仍不棄之、
