約書亞走近耶利哥的時候，抬頭觀看，看見一個人站在他對面，手裡拿著拔出來的刀。約書亞走到他那裡，對他說：“你是我們的人，還是我們的仇敵呢？”

在你以後，另一國將興起，不及於你。後有第三國，就是那銅的，要統治全地。

你們要磨尖箭頭，拿起盾牌（“拿起盾牌”《七十士譯本》譯作“裝滿箭袋”）；耶和華定意要毀滅巴比倫，所以激動瑪代諸王的心；這是耶和華的報復，就是為他的殿而施行的報復。

我又舉目觀看，看見有四輛戰車從兩座山中間出來，那兩座山是銅山。

我又看見另一隻獸，就是第二隻獸；牠和熊相似，挺起一邊的身軀，口中的牙齒銜著三根肋骨。有人這樣對牠說：‘起來，吃多量的肉吧！’

大衛舉目看見耶和華的使者站在天地之間，手裡拿著出了鞘的刀，指向耶路撒冷。大衛和眾長老都穿上麻布，臉伏於地。

我又舉目觀看，看見有一卷飛行的書卷。

“波斯王古列這樣說：‘耶和華天上的神已經把地上萬國賜給我。他指派我在猶大的耶路撒冷為他建造殿宇。

那與我說話的天使又出來對我說：“你要舉目觀看，看看這出來的是甚麼？”

我被指示去看一個慘酷的異象：那行詭詐的仍然行詭詐，那行破壞的仍然行破壞。以攔哪，上去吧！瑪代啊，圍攻吧！我要使一切歎息止住。

又在波斯王古列的日子，直到波斯王大利烏在位的時候，常常賄買參謀，來敵對猶大人，要破壞他們的建殿計劃。

巴蘭舉目，看見以色列人按著支派居住，神的靈就臨到他身上。

於是這但以理在大利烏作王的時候，和在波斯人古列作王的時候（本句或譯：“於是這但以理在大利烏〔即波斯人古列〕作王的時候”），事事亨通。

我又舉目觀看，看見有四個角。
