I, Daniel, was worn out. I lay exhausted for several days. Then I got up and went about the king’s business. I was appalled by the vision; it was beyond understanding.

我一聽見，就全身發抖；因這聲音，我嘴唇震顫。腐爛侵蝕我骨，我在站立之地戰兢。我靜候災難之日，犯境的民上來。

撒母耳睡到天亮，他就開了耶和華殿的門。但撒母耳不敢把異象告訴以利。

因此，只有我一人留下來；我看見了這大異象，就全身無力，臉色大變，一點力氣都沒有。

忽然有一位像人的，摸我的嘴唇，我就開口和那站在我面前的交談，說：“我主啊！因著這異象，我非常痛苦，毫無氣力。

我看見公山羊走近公綿羊，向牠發怒，撞擊牠，折斷牠的兩個角；公綿羊在牠面前站立不住，牠把公綿羊撞倒在地上，又用腳踐踏牠，沒有能拯救公綿羊脫離牠手的。

我在異象中觀看，看見自己在以攔省書珊城堡裡；我在異象中繼續觀看，看見自己在烏萊河的岸邊。

我聽說你裡面有神的靈，有灼見，有聰明，有高超的智慧。

於是王提升但以理，賜他許多貴重的禮物，使他管理巴比倫全省，又立他為總長，管理巴比倫所有的智慧人。但以理求王，王就委派沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌管理巴比倫省的政務；但以理卻在朝中侍立。

他又在這些總督之上，設立三位監察司（但以理是其中之一），監管總督的工作，免得王受虧損。因為但以理裡面有美好的靈性，所以各方面都比其他的監察司和總督優勝；王有意立他治理全國。
