“ The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given to you is true. But seal up the vision. It is about a time far off.”

“ This vision about the 2,300 evenings and mornings is true. But none of these things will happen for a long time, so keep this vision a secret.”

In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel( who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war. The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.

But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”

Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.”

He replied,“ Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end.

Then he told me,“ Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near.

“ Son of man, the Israelites are saying,‘ The vision he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies about the distant future.’

And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say,“ Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down.”

Then I told her,“ You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I will behave the same way toward you.”For the Israelites will live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred stones, without ephod or household gods.

It set itself up to be as great as the commander of the army of the Lord; it took away the daily sacrifice from the Lord, and his sanctuary was thrown down.Because of rebellion, the Lord’s people and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. It prospered in everything it did, and truth was thrown to the ground.Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him,“ How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled— the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, the surrender of the sanctuary and the trampling underfoot of the Lord’s people?”He said to me,“ It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary will be reconsecrated.”While I, Daniel, was watching the vision and trying to understand it, there before me stood one who looked like a man.

They will be herded together like prisoners bound in a dungeon; they will be shut up in prison and be punished after many days.
