While I, Daniel, was watching the vision and trying to understand it, there stood before me someone who appeared to be a man.

While I, Daniel, was watching the vision and trying to understand it, there before me stood one who looked like a man.

I was having the vision. And I was trying to understand it. Then I saw someone who looked like a man.

When I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it. And behold, there stood before me one having the appearance of a man.

As I, Daniel, was trying to understand the meaning of this vision, someone who looked like a man stood in front of me.

When I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it; and behold, standing before me was one who looked like a man.

Then it happened, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and was seeking the meaning, that suddenly there stood before me one having the appearance of a man.

And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, that I sought to understand it; and, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

Suddenly one with human likeness touched my lips. I opened my mouth and said to the one standing in front of me,“ My lord, because of the vision, anguish overwhelms me and I am powerless.

and among the lampstands was one like the Son of Man, dressed in a robe and with a golden sash wrapped around his chest.

Then the one with a human appearance touched me again and strengthened me.

Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and carefully investigated.They inquired into what time or what circumstances the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when he testified in advance to the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

I heard but did not understand. So I asked,“ My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”

“ This is the end of the account. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts terrified me greatly, and my face turned pale, but I kept the matter to myself.”In the third year of King Belshazzar’s reign, a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after the one that had appeared to me earlier.

“ Neither,” he replied.“ I have now come as commander of the LORD’s army.” Then Joshua bowed with his face to the ground in homage and asked him,“ What does my lord want to say to his servant?”

“ When you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be”( let the reader understand),“ then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on his shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

so that they may indeed look, and yet not perceive; they may indeed listen, and yet not understand; otherwise, they might turn back and be forgiven.”

This calls for wisdom: Let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, because it is the number of a person. Its number is 666.

I looked up, and there was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of gold from Uphaz around his waist.

I continued watching in the night visions, and suddenly one like a son of man was coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was escorted before him.

Then he left the crowds and went into the house. His disciples approached him and said,“ Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”

Something like a throne with the appearance of lapis lazuli was above the expanse over their heads. On the throne, high above, was someone who looked like a human.From what seemed to be his waist up, I saw a gleam like amber, with what looked like fire enclosing it all around. From what seemed to be his waist down, I also saw what looked like fire. There was a brilliant light all around him.The appearance of the brilliant light all around was like that of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day. This was the appearance of the likeness of the LORD’s glory. When I saw it, I fell facedown and heard a voice speaking.

I approached one of those who were standing by and asked him to clarify all this. So he let me know the interpretation of these things:‘ These huge beasts, four in number, are four kings who will rise from the earth.But the holy ones of the Most High will receive the kingdom and possess it forever, yes, forever and ever.’“ Then I wanted to be clear about the fourth beast, the one different from all the others, extremely terrifying, with iron teeth and bronze claws, devouring, crushing, and trampling with its feet whatever was left.

“ So when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place”( let the reader understand),
