Then I heard a holy one speaking. Another holy one said to the one who was speaking,“ To what period of time does the vision pertain– this vision concerning the daily sacrifice and the destructive act of rebellion and the giving over of both the sanctuary and army to be trampled?”

我听见有一位圣者说话，又有一位圣者问那说话的圣者说：“这除掉常献的燔祭和施行毁坏的罪过，将圣所与军旅践踏的异象，要到几时才应验呢？”

我听见有一位圣者说话，又有一位圣者向那说话的圣者说：“这经常献的祭、带来荒凉的罪过、圣所与军队被践踏的异象，要持续到几时呢？”

我听见有一位圣者说话，又有一位圣者向那说话的圣者说：“这经常献的祭、带来荒凉的罪过、圣所与军队被践踏的异象，要持续到几时呢？”

接着，我听见一位圣者在说话，另一位圣者问他：“异象中出现的有关日常所献的祭，毁灭性的反叛和践踏圣所及天军的事要持续多久呢？”

我听见一位圣者在说话，又有一位圣者问他：“这个关于除掉常献的祭，和引致毁坏的罪过，以及践踏圣所和圣民（“圣民”和8:10~11的“天象”原文是同一个字）的异象，要到几时呢？”

然后我听见一位圣者在说话，又有一位圣者问那说话的：“这异象，就是有关常献的祭、带来荒凉的罪过、圣所和天军被践踏之事，要到什么时候呢？”

我聽見有一位聖者說話，又有一位聖者問那說話的聖者說：「這除掉常獻的燔祭和施行毀壞的罪過，將聖所與軍旅踐踏的異象，要到幾時才應驗呢？」

我聽見有一位聖者說話，又有一位聖者向那說話的聖者說：「這經常獻的祭、帶來荒涼的罪過、聖所與軍隊被踐踏的異象，要持續到幾時呢？」

我聽見有一位聖者說話，又有一位聖者向那說話的聖者說：「這經常獻的祭、帶來荒涼的罪過、聖所與軍隊被踐踏的異象，要持續到幾時呢？」

接著，我聽見一位聖者在說話，另一位聖者問他：「異象中出現的有關日常所獻的祭，毀滅性的反叛和踐踏聖所及天軍的事要持續多久呢？」

我聽見一位聖者在說話，又有一位聖者問他：“這個關於除掉常獻的祭，和引致毀壞的罪過，以及踐踏聖所和聖民（“聖民”和8:10~11的“天象”原文是同一個字）的異象，要到幾時呢？”

我聽見有一位聖者在說話；又有一位聖者問那說話的聖者，說：『關於以下這些事的異象要延到幾時呢？關於這不斷獻的燔祭之被除掉和那使地荒涼的罪過行為、以及將聖所和拜神儀節任意踐踏的事；要延到幾時呢？

然後我聽見一位聖者在說話，又有一位聖者問那說話的：「這異象，就是有關常獻的祭、帶來荒涼的罪過、聖所和天軍被踐踏之事，要到什麼時候呢？」

我聞一聖者宣言、又有一聖者詢之曰、異象所示、論去日獻之祭、與行毀滅之罪、且付聖所與軍旅、而受足踐、其事延至何時、

我聞聖使相語曰、民犯罪戾、都城遭毀、日獻之祭品、悉已棄捐、聖所祭司、俱遭蹂躪、所見之異象、將應於何時、

我聞一聖者聖者或作聖天使下同言、又有一聖者、問彼言之聖者曰、異象顯示日獻之祭必除、民之罪愆、使毀滅行於國、民之罪愆使毀滅行於國或作施行毀滅者犯大罪愆使聖所與軍旅被蹂躪、其事將至何時、其事將至何時或作此異象應於何時

Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him,“ How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled— the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, the surrender of the sanctuary and the trampling underfoot of the Lord’s people?”

Then I heard a holy angel speaking. Another holy angel spoke to him. He asked,“ How long will it take for the vision to come true? When will the daily sacrifices be stopped? When will those who refuse to obey God be destroyed? When will the temple be handed over to an enemy? And when will some of the Lord’ s people be stomped on?”

Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke,“ For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?”

Then I heard two holy ones talking to each other. One of them asked,“ How long will the events of this vision last? How long will the rebellion that causes desecration stop the daily sacrifices? How long will the Temple and heaven’s army be trampled on?”

Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the speaker,“ How long will the events of this vision last— the regular sacrifice, the rebellion that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and of the army to be trampled?”

Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to that particular one who was speaking,“ How long will the vision about the regular sacrifice apply, while the offense causes horror, so as to allow both the sanctuary and the army to be trampled?”

Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking,“ How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled under foot?”

Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said unto that certain one who spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the continual burnt- offering, and the transgression that maketh desolate, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the speaker,“ How long will the events of this vision last— the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and of the host to be trampled?”

Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain[ saint] which spake, How long[ shall be] the vision[ concerning] the daily[ sacrifice], and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who spoke,“ How long will the vision about the continual burnt offering, and the disobedience that makes desolate, to give both the sanctuary and the army to be trodden under foot be?”

But do not measure the outer courtyard of the temple; leave it out, because it has been given to the Gentiles, and they will trample on the holy city for forty- two months.

They cried out with a loud voice,“ How long, Sovereign Master, holy and true, before you judge those who live on the earth and avenge our blood?”

They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away as captives among all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

He will confirm a covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of that week he will bring sacrifices and offerings to a halt. On the wing of abominations will come one who destroys, until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys.”

While I was watching in my mind’s visions on my bed, a holy sentinel came down from heaven.

For a short time your special nation possessed a land, but then our adversaries knocked down your holy sanctuary.

They were shown that they were serving not themselves but you, in regard to the things now announced to you through those who proclaimed the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven– things angels long to catch a glimpse of.

I replied,“ How long, sovereign master?” He said,“ Until cities are in ruins and unpopulated, and houses are uninhabited, and the land is ruined and devastated,

How long will this go on, O LORD? Will you stay angry forever? How long will your rage burn like fire?

His forces will rise up and profane the fortified sanctuary, stopping the daily sacrifice. In its place they will set up the abomination that causes desolation.

How much greater punishment do you think that person deserves who has contempt for the Son of God, and profanes the blood of the covenant that made him holy, and insults the Spirit of grace?

“ But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near.

At this point the angelic messenger who spoke to me went out, and another messenger came to meet himand said to him,“ Hurry, speak to this young man as follows:‘ Jerusalem will no longer be enclosed by walls because of the multitude of people and animals there.

For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. He shoulders responsibility and is called: Extraordinary Strategist, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The LORD’s messenger said to him,“ You should not ask me my name, because you cannot comprehend it.”

Then I asked one nearby,“ What are these, sir?” The angelic messenger who replied to me said,“ I will show you what these are.”Then the man standing among the myrtle trees spoke up and said,“ These are the ones whom the LORD has sent to walk about on the earth.”The riders then agreed with the angel of the LORD, who was standing among the myrtle trees,“ We have been walking about on the earth, and now everything is at rest and quiet.”The angel of the LORD then asked,“ LORD who rules over all, how long before you have compassion on Jerusalem and the other cities of Judah which you have been so angry with for these seventy years?”

No one has ever seen God. The only one, himself God, who is in closest fellowship with the Father, has made God known.

“ So when you see the abomination of desolation– spoken about by Daniel the prophet– standing in the holy place( let the reader understand),

Then you will escape through my mountain valley, for the mountains will extend to Azal. Indeed, you will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come with all his holy ones with him.

It also acted arrogantly against the Prince of the army, from whom the daily sacrifice was removed and whose sanctuary was thrown down.The army was given over, along with the daily sacrifice, in the course of his sinful rebellion. It hurled truth to the ground and enjoyed success.

I, Daniel, watched as two others stood there, one on each side of the river.One said to the man clothed in linen who was above the waters of the river,“ When will the end of these wondrous events occur?”

So I asked the angelic messenger who spoke with me,“ What are these?” He replied,“ These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”

He said: The Lord came from Sinai and revealed himself to Israel from Seir. He appeared in splendor from Mount Paran, and came forth with ten thousand holy ones. With his right hand he gave a fiery law to them.

“ This is what he told me:‘ The fourth beast means that there will be a fourth kingdom on earth that will differ from all the other kingdoms. It will devour all the earth and will trample and crush it.

“ But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be( let the reader understand), then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.

Now Enoch, the seventh in descent beginning with Adam, even prophesied of them, saying,“ Look! The Lord is coming with thousands and thousands of his holy ones,

All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decides to reveal him.

From the time that the daily sacrifice is removed and the abomination that causes desolation is set in place, there are 1,290 days.

I approached one of those standing nearby and asked him about the meaning of all this. So he spoke with me and revealed to me the interpretation of the vision:

so that your hearts are strengthened in holiness to be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

All things have been given to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decides to reveal him.”

As for the king seeing a holy sentinel coming down from heaven and saying,‘ Chop down the tree and destroy it, but leave its taproot in the ground, with a band of iron and bronze around it, surrounded by the grass of the field. Let it become damp with the dew of the sky, and let it live with the wild animals, until seven periods of time go by for him’–

We do not see any signs of God’s presence; there are no longer any prophets and we have no one to tell us how long this will last.
