我但以理精疲力竭，病了幾天，後來我起來，辦理王的事務，但我仍因這異象驚駭不已，不明白它的意思。

因此，只有我一人留下來；我看見了這大異象，就全身無力，臉色大變，一點力氣都沒有。

於是那稱為伯提沙撒的但以理驚愕片時，他想到的事使他驚惶。王對他說：“伯提沙撒啊！別讓這夢和夢的意思使你驚惶。”伯提沙撒回答說：“我主啊！願這夢歸給憎恨你的人，夢的意思歸給你的敵人。

他說：“看哪！我要告訴你在神忿怒審判的後期必要發生的事，因為這是有關那末後的定期的。

他就來到我所站的地方；他來到的時候，我就害怕，臉伏在地；他對我說：“人子啊，你要明白！這異象是關於末後的時期的。”

他回答：“但以理啊！你只管去吧，因為這些話已經隱藏密封，直到末期。

就臉色大變，心意驚惶，兩腳無力，雙膝彼此相碰。

眾人看見了耶穌，都很驚奇，就跑上前去向他問安。

約瑟把夢向他父親和哥哥們述說了，他父親就斥責他，說：“你所作的這夢是甚麼夢呢？我和你母親，以及你的兄弟，真的要來俯伏在地向你下拜嗎？”

你應去等待結局！你必安歇；到了末日，你必起來，承受你的分。”

至於那兩個王，他們都存心不良；他們同桌吃飯，也彼此說謊；他們的陰謀卻不成功，因為要到了指定的時候，結局才會來到。

“你們要把這些話存在心裡：人子將要被交在人的手裡。”
