看哪，与我说话的天使出去，另有一位天使迎着他来，

他指教我说：“但以理啊，现在我来要使你有智慧，有聪明。

他对我说：“蒙爱的但以理啊，要思想我对你所说的话，只管站起来，因为我现在奉差遣来到你这里。”他对我说这话，我就战战兢兢地站起来。他说：“但以理啊，不要惧怕！因为自从第一日你立志要明白，又在你神面前刻苦自己，你的话已蒙应允；我就是因你的话而来。

我听见有一位圣者说话，又有一位圣者向那说话的圣者说：“这经常献的祭、带来荒凉的罪过、圣所与军队被践踏的异象，要持续到几时呢？”他对我说：“要到二千三百日，圣所就必洁净。”我—但以理见了这异象，想要明白其中的意思。看哪，有一位形状像人的站在我面前。我听见乌莱河中有人声呼叫说：“加百列啊，要使这人明白这异象。”

举目观看，看哪，有一人身穿细麻衣，腰束乌法的纯金腰带。他的身体如水苍玉，面貌如闪电，眼目如火把，手臂和脚如明亮的铜，说话的声音像众人的声音。

我—但以理观看，看哪，另有两个人站立：一个在河这边，一个在河那边。其中一个对那在河水之上、穿细麻衣的说：“这奇异的事要到几时才应验呢？”

万军之耶和华如此说：“你若遵行我的道，谨守我的命令，就可以管理我的家，看守我的院宇；我也要使你在这些侍立的人中间来往。
