I approached one of those standing there and asked him the meaning of all this.“ So he told me and gave me the interpretation of these things:

长老中有一位问我：“这些身穿白袍的是谁？他们是从哪里来的呢？”我对他说：“我主啊，你是知道的。”他告诉我：“这些人是从大患难中出来的。他们用羊羔的血，把自己的衣袍洗洁白了。

有火像河涌出，烈火从他面前冒出；事奉他的有千千，侍立在他面前的有万万。审判已经开始，案卷都展开了。

长老中有一位对我说：“不要哭！看哪，那从犹大支派出来的狮子，大卫的根，他已经得胜了，他能够展开那书卷，拆开它的七印。”

那与我说话的天使离去的时候，另有一位天使迎着他来，

他向我解释，说：“但以理啊！现在我来，要使你有智慧，有聪明。

他对我说：“大蒙眷爱的但以理啊！你应当留意我要对你说的话。你只管站起来，因为我现在奉差遣到你这里来。”他和我说这话的时候，我就战战兢兢地站起来。他又对我说：“但以理啊！不要惧怕，因为自从你第一天决心要明白这些事，又在你的神面前谦卑自己，你祷告的话已蒙垂听了；我就是因你祷告的话而来的。

我夜间观看，看见有一个人骑着红马，站在低洼地上的番石榴树中间；在他后面还有些红色、栗色和白色的马。我就问：“我主啊，这些是什么？”那与我说话的天使对我说：“我会指示你这些是什么。”那站在番石榴树中间的人回答：“这些就是耶和华所差遣在遍地巡逻的。”那些骑士回报那站在番石榴树中间的耶和华使者，说：“我们已经在遍地巡逻；看见全地都安定，一片平静。”

我听见一位圣者在说话，又有一位圣者问他：“这个关于除掉常献的祭，和引致毁坏的罪过，以及践踏圣所和圣民（“圣民”和8:10~11的“天象”原文是同一个字）的异象，要到几时呢？”他对我说：“要到二千三百个晚上和早晨，圣所才得洁净。”我但以理看见了这异象以后，就想明白它的意义；忽然有一位外貌像人的，站在我面前。我又听见从乌莱河两岸之间，有人的声音呼叫着说：“加百列啊！你要使这人明白这异象。”

我举目观看，看见有一个人身穿细麻衣，腰束乌法纯金的带。他的身像水苍玉，面貌像闪电的样子，眼睛像火把，手臂和腿像擦亮的铜那么闪耀，说话的声音像群众喊叫的声音。

我但以理观看，看见另有两个天使，一个站在河岸的这边，一个站在河岸的那边。有一个问那身穿细麻衣、站在河水以上的人，说：“这些奇异的事的结局几时才到呢？”

“万军之耶和华这样说：‘你若遵行我的道，谨守我的吩咐，你就必治理我的家，看守我的院子，我必赐你特权，可以在这些侍立在我面前的使者中间自由出入。
