尼布甲尼撒在执政第二年做了梦，心里烦乱，无法入睡，

耶和华说：“你们听我说，你们中间若有先知，我耶和华必在异象中向他显现，在梦中跟他说话。

晚上，上帝在异象中对他说：“雅各！雅各！”他说：“我在这里。”

当夜，迦勒底王伯沙撒被杀。

我正要将雷鸣的意思记录下来，就听见天上有声音说：“你要封住七声雷鸣所说的事，别写下来。”

这些事以后，耶和华在异象中对亚伯兰说：“亚伯兰，你不用害怕，我是你的盾牌，我要大大赏赐你。”

耶和华对我说：“你去拿块大的写字板，用通用的文字在上面写上‘玛黑珥·沙拉勒·哈施·罢斯’。

耶和华对我说：“现在，你去当着他们的面把这些话刻在版上，记在书卷上，永远留给后世作明证。

在看见先前的异象之后，我但以理在伯沙撒王执政第三年又看见一个异象。
