禍哉！那些設立不義之律例的，和記錄奸詐之判詞的，

他們就進到王面前，向王提及禁令，說：「三十天之內不拘何人，若在王以外，或向神明或向人求甚麼，必被扔在獅子坑中，王不是在這禁令上簽署了嗎？」王回答說：「確有這事，照瑪代人和波斯人的例是不可更改的。」

正月十三日，王的一些書記受召而來，照着哈曼一切所吩咐的，用各省的文字、各族的語言，奉亞哈隨魯王的名寫諭旨，又用王的戒指蓋印，傳給王的總督、各省的省長，以及各族的領袖。

末底改奉亞哈隨魯王的名寫諭旨，用王的戒指蓋印，交給信差們騎上御用的王室快馬去頒佈。

以斯帖又在王面前求情，俯伏在他腳前，流淚哀求他阻止亞甲人哈曼害猶太人的惡謀。

你們可以照你們看為好的，奉王的名寫諭旨給猶太人，用王的戒指蓋印；因為奉王的名所寫、用王的戒指蓋印的諭旨是不能廢除的。」
