Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.

Daniel did a better job than the other two leaders or any of the royal rulers. He was an unusually good and able man. So the king planned to put him in charge of the whole kingdom.

Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other high officials and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.

Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire.

猶太人末底改作亞哈隨魯王的宰相，在猶太人中為大，得許多弟兄的喜悅，為本族的人爭取福利，為他所有的後代謀求幸福。

都因為他有美好的靈性，又有知識聰明，能解夢，釋謎語，解疑惑。這人名叫但以理，尼布甲尼撒王又稱他為伯提沙撒，現在可以召他來，他必解明這意思。

法老對臣僕說：「像這樣的人，有上帝的靈在他裏面，我們豈能找得着呢？」法老對約瑟說：「上帝既指示你這一切事，就沒有人像你這樣聰明又有智慧。你可以治理我的家；我的百姓都必服從你口中的命令。惟獨在寶座上，我比你大。」法老又對約瑟說：「看，我委派你治理埃及全地。」

於是我看出智慧勝過愚昧，如同光明勝過黑暗。

我吩咐我的兄弟哈拿尼和城堡的官長哈拿尼雅管理耶路撒冷，因為哈拿尼雅是一個忠信的人，敬畏上帝過於眾人。

你看見辦事殷勤的人嗎？他必侍立在君王面前，不在平庸的人面前。

你剛開始懇求的時候，就有命令發出。現在我來告訴你，因你是蒙愛的；所以你要思想這事，明白這異象。

節制言語的，有見識；性情溫良的人，有聰明。

不可使慈愛和誠信離開你，要繫在你頸項上，刻在你心版上。這樣，你必在上帝和世人眼前蒙恩惠，有美好的見識。
