Now this Daniel was distinguishing himself above the other supervisors and the satraps, for he had an extraordinary spirit. In fact, the king intended to appoint him over the entire kingdom.

但以理心甚靈慧、王使之綜理、監督州牧、職居宰輔、統轄全土、

但以理心甚靈慧、尊榮勝於他冢宰與諸方伯、王欲立之治理通國、

Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.

Daniel did a better job than the other two leaders or any of the royal rulers. He was an unusually good and able man. So the king planned to put him in charge of the whole kingdom.

Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other high officials and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.

Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire.

Mordecai the Jew was second only to King Ahasuerus. He was the highest-ranking Jew, and he was admired by his numerous relatives. He worked enthusiastically for the good of his people and was an advocate for the welfare of all his descendants.

Thus there was found in this man Daniel, whom the king renamed Belteshazzar, an extraordinary spirit, knowledge, and skill to interpret dreams, solve riddles, and decipher knotty problems. Now summon Daniel, and he will disclose the interpretation.”

So Pharaoh asked his officials,“ Can we find a man like Joseph, one in whom the Spirit of God is present?”So Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ Because God has enabled you to know all this, there is no one as wise and discerning as you are!You will oversee my household, and all my people will submit to your commands. Only I, the king, will be greater than you.“ See here,” Pharaoh said to Joseph,“ I place you in authority over all the land of Egypt.”

I realized that wisdom is preferable to folly, just as light is preferable to darkness:

I then put in charge over Jerusalem my brother Hanani and Hananiah the chief of the citadel, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many do.

Do you see a person skilled in his work? He will take his position before kings; he will not take his position before obscure people.

At the beginning of your requests a message went out, and I have come to convey it to you, for you are of great value in God’s sight. Therefore consider the message and understand the vision:

The truly wise person restrains his words, and the one who stays calm is discerning.

Do not let truth and mercy leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.Then you will find favor and good understanding, in the sight of God and people.
