May those who wait to ambush me be repaid for their evil! As a demonstration of your faithfulness, destroy them!

In this way you will purge evil from among you.The rest of the people will hear and become afraid to keep doing such evil among you.

But when the matter came to the king’s attention, the king gave written orders that Haman’s evil intentions that he had devised against the Jews should fall on his own head. He and his sons were hanged on the gallows.

But since the king’s command was so urgent, and the furnace was so excessively hot, the men who escorted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were killed by the leaping flames.
