He placed three leaders over them. One of the leaders was Daniel. The royal rulers were made accountable to the three leaders. Then the king wouldn’t lose any of his wealth.

and over them three high officials, of whom Daniel was one, to whom these satraps should give account, so that the king might suffer no loss.

The king also chose Daniel and two others as administrators to supervise the high officers and protect the king’s interests.

Then at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck, and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom.

Now I have heard that you are able to give interpretations and to solve difficult problems. If you can read this writing and tell me what it means, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”

Be careful not to neglect this matter. Why let this threat grow, to the detriment of the royal interests?

Then the king placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men.Moreover, at Daniel’s request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon, while Daniel himself remained at the royal court.

For I and my people have been sold to be destroyed, killed and annihilated. If we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet, because no such distress would justify disturbing the king.”

“ Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.

Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

Sending a message by the hands of a fool is like cutting off one’s feet or drinking poison.

“ Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares:‘ I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.’ But now the Lord declares:‘ Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.

Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.

So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas.‘ Put this money to work,’ he said,‘ until I come back.’“ But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say,‘ We don’t want this man to be our king.’“ He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.“ The first one came and said,‘ Sir, your mina has earned ten more.’“‘ Well done, my good servant!’ his master replied.‘ Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.’“ The second came and said,‘ Sir, your mina has earned five more.’“ His master answered,‘ You take charge of five cities.’“ Then another servant came and said,‘ Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth.I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.’“ His master replied,‘ I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?Why then didn’t you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?’“ Then he said to those standing by,‘ Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.’“‘ Sir,’ they said,‘ he already has ten!’“ He replied,‘ I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them— bring them here and kill them in front of me.’”

So he called him in and asked him,‘ What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you cannot be manager any longer.’
