with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The satraps were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss.

He placed three leaders over them. One of the leaders was Daniel. The royal rulers were made accountable to the three leaders. Then the king wouldn’t lose any of his wealth.

and over them three high officials, of whom Daniel was one, to whom these satraps should give account, so that the king might suffer no loss.

The king also chose Daniel and two others as administrators to supervise the high officers and protect the king’s interests.

召其僕十人、予金十斤、謂之曰、貿易以待我來、其民憾之、遣使於其後、曰、我儕不欲斯人君我也、貴胄受國而返、命召予金之僕、欲知其獲利幾何、其一至、曰、主之一斤、已獲十斤矣、曰、俞、善僕也、爾於小者既忠、可宰十邑也、其次至、曰、主之一斤、已獲五斤矣、曰爾亦可宰五邑也、又其次至、曰、主之一斤在此、我藏之於巾、蓋我畏爾嚴人也、未置者取之、未播者穫之、主謂之曰、惡哉僕也、我即由爾口判爾、爾既知我嚴、未置而取、未播而穫、盍以我金置肆、我來時、可並其利取之、遂命左右曰、奪其一斤、以予有十斤者、眾曰、主、彼已有十斤矣、曰我語汝、凡有者、將予之、無者、並其所有亦奪之、至於我敵、不欲我君之者、曳之來、誅於我前、○

主呼之曰、我聞言及爾者何耶、陳述爾職、蓋爾不得仍為家宰也、
