王遂命人以但以理攜至、投之獅穴、告但以理曰、爾所恆事之天主、必必或作願其救爾、

So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel,“ May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”

So the king gave the order. Daniel was brought out and thrown into the lions’ den. The king said to him,“ You always serve your God faithfully. So may he save you!”

So at last the king gave orders for Daniel to be arrested and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to him,“ May your God, whom you serve so faithfully, rescue you.”

But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.Yahweh helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.

He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.

“ Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name.He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.”

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.

Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said,“ Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and have yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

I am weak today, though anointed king. These men, the sons of Zeruiah are too hard for me. May Yahweh reward the evildoer according to his wickedness.”

If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

When he came near to the den to Daniel, he cried with a troubled voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel,“ Daniel, servant of the living God, is your God, whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?”

It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man.It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in princes.

The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe.

For if I have done wrong and have committed anything worthy of death, I don’t refuse to die; but if none of those things is true that they accuse me of, no one can give me up to them. I appeal to Caesar!”

Now if you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, good; but if you don’t worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the middle of a burning fiery furnace. Who is that god that will deliver you out of my hands?”

But when two years were fulfilled, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and desiring to gain favor with the Jews, Felix left Paul in bonds.

But the governor said,“ Why? What evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, saying,“ Let him be crucified!”So when Pilate saw that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying,“ I am innocent of the blood of this righteous person. You see to it.”All the people answered,“ May his blood be on us, and on our children!”Then he released to them Barabbas, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.

Zedekiah the king said,“ Behold, he is in your hand; for the king can’t do anything to oppose you.”

She came in immediately with haste to the king, and asked,“ I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths, and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring John’s head, and he went and beheaded him in the prison,and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.

But Festus, desiring to gain favor with the Jews, answered Paul and said,“ Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem, and be judged by me there concerning these things?”

For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority,

She, being prompted by her mother, said,“ Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptizer.”The king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths, and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given,and he sent and beheaded John in the prison.

Pilate said to them,“ Why, what evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly,“ Crucify him!”Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.

All the presidents of the kingdom, the deputies and the local governors, the counselors and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a strong decree, that whoever asks a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of you, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jews cried out, saying,“ If you release this man, you aren’t Caesar’s friend! Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar!”When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called“ The Pavement”, but in Hebrew,“ Gabbatha.”Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about the sixth hour. He said to the Jews,“ Behold, your King!”They cried out,“ Away with him! Away with him! Crucify him!” Pilate said to them,“ Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered,“ We have no king but Caesar!”So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus and led him away.

But as for me, behold, I am in your hand. Do with me what is good and right in your eyes.

For there stood by me this night an angel, belonging to the God whose I am and whom I serve,saying,‘ Don’t be afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar. Behold, God has granted you all those who sail with you.’
