Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Daniel found out that the king had signed the order. In spite of that, he did just as he had always done before. He went home to his upstairs room. Its windows opened toward Jerusalem. He went to his room three times a day to pray. He got down on his knees and gave thanks to his God.

When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.

Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice.

But Peter and the other apostles answered and said:“ We ought to obey God rather than men.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

pray without ceasing,in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said,“ Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.

“ When Your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever You send them, and when they pray to the Lord toward the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name,

So they answered and said before the king,“ That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.”

Then I said,‘ I have been cast out of Your sight; Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.’

And so it was, when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and supplication to the Lord, that he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour.

and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name:then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause,and forgive Your people who have sinned against You, and all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You; and grant them compassion before those who took them captive, that they may have compassion on them

whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows the plague of his own heart, and spreads out his hands toward this temple:

Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

( for Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and he stood on it, knelt down on his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven);

But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.”So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.But Peter and John answered and said to them,“ Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.

At the evening sacrifice I arose from my fasting; and having torn my garment and my robe, I fell on my knees and spread out my hands to the Lord my God.

And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Be merciful to me, O Lord, For I cry to You all day long.

Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,

And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed,

Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice,“ Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

“ I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.

And I said,“ Should such a man as I flee? And who is there such as I who would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!”

“ Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.”

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

“ And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!“ Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God.But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.“ Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God.But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.

“ If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.“ Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

In the Lord I put my trust; How can you say to my soul,“ Flee as a bird to your mountain”?For look! The wicked bend their bow, They make ready their arrow on the string, That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.

When we had come to the end of those days, we departed and went on our way; and they all accompanied us, with wives and children, till we were out of the city. And we knelt down on the shore and prayed.

And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive.
