Daniel found out that the king had signed the order. In spite of that, he did just as he had always done before. He went home to his upstairs room. Its windows opened toward Jerusalem. He went to his room three times a day to pray. He got down on his knees and gave thanks to his God.

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.

When Daniel realized that a written decree had been issued, he entered his home, where the windows in his upper room opened toward Jerusalem. Three times daily he was kneeling and offering prayers and thanks to his God just as he had been accustomed to do previously.

When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house( now his windows were open in his room toward Jerusalem) and he kneeled on his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.

Evening, morning and noon I groan and cry out. And he hears my voice.

Peter and the other apostles replied,“ We must obey God instead of people!

Come, let us bow down and worship him. Let us fall on our knees in front of the Lord our Maker.

Don’t worry about anything. No matter what happens, tell God about everything. Ask and pray, and give thanks to him.

Never stop praying.Give thanks no matter what happens. God wants you to thank him because you believe in Christ Jesus.

So let us never stop offering to God our praise through Jesus. Let us talk openly about our faith in him. Then our words will be like an offering to God.

Peter sent them all out of the room. Then he got down on his knees and prayed. He turned toward the dead woman. He said,“ Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes. When she saw Peter, she sat up.

I will thank the Lord at all times. My lips will always praise him.

Because of your great love I can come into your house. With deep respect I bow down toward your holy temple.

“ Suppose your people go to war against their enemies. It doesn’t matter where you send them. And suppose they pray to you toward the city you have chosen. They pray toward the temple I’ve built for your Name.

Then they spoke to the king again. They said,“ Daniel is one of the prisoners from Judah. He doesn’t pay any attention to you, Your Majesty. He doesn’t obey the order you put in writing. He still prays to his God three times a day.”

I said,‘ I have been driven away from you. But I will look again toward your holy temple in Jerusalem.’

Solomon finished praying. He finished asking the Lord to help his people. Then he got up from in front of the Lord’ s altar. He had been down on his knees with his hands spread out toward heaven.

It was about noon the next day. The men were on their journey and were approaching the city. Peter went up on the roof to pray.

And they turn back to you with all their heart and soul. Suppose it happens in the land of their enemies who took them away as prisoners. There they pray to you toward the land you gave their people long ago. They pray toward the city you have chosen. And they pray toward the temple I’ve built for your Name.Then listen to them from heaven. It’s the place where you live. Listen to their prayer. Listen to them when they ask you to help them. Stand up for them.Your people have sinned against you. Please forgive them. Forgive them for all the wrong things they’ve done against you. And make those who won the battle over them show mercy to them.

But suppose one of your people prays to you. They ask you to help them. They are aware of how much their own heart is suffering. And they spread out their hands toward this temple to pray.

Don’t be afraid of what you are going to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you. You will be treated badly for ten days. Be faithful, even if it means you must die. Then I will give you life as your crown of victory.

And because I am a prisoner, most of the believers have become bolder in the Lord. They now dare even more to preach the good news without fear.

So let us boldly approach God’s throne of grace. Then we will receive mercy. We will find grace to help us when we need it.

One day Peter and John were going up to the temple. It was three o’clock in the afternoon. It was the time for prayer.

He had made a bronze stage. It was seven and a half feet long and seven and a half feet wide. It was four and a half feet high. He had placed it in the center of the outer courtyard. He stood on the stage. Then he got down on his knees in front of the whole community of Israel. He spread out his hands toward heaven.

We have to stop this thing. It must not spread any further among the people. We have to warn these men. They must never speak to anyone in Jesus’ name again.”Once again the leaders called in Peter and John. They commanded them not to speak or teach at all in Jesus’ name.But Peter and John replied,“ Which is right from God’s point of view? Should we listen to you? Or should we listen to God? You be the judges!

Then I got up. I had been very sad for quite a while. My inner robe and my coat were torn. I fell down on my knees. I spread my hands out to the Lord my God.

Paul finished speaking. Then he got down on his knees with all of them and prayed.

I bow in prayer to the Father because of my work among you.

But my life means nothing to me. My only goal is to finish the race. I want to complete the work the Lord Jesus has given me. He wants me to tell others about the good news of God’s grace.

Lord, have mercy on me. I call out to you all day long.

Now, Lord, consider the bad things they say they are going to do. Help us to be very bold when we speak your word.

Then he went a short distance away from them. There he got down on his knees and prayed.

Then he fell on his knees. He cried out,“ Lord! Don’t hold this sin against them!” When he had said this, he died.

‘ I know that you live where Satan has his throne. But you remain faithful to me. You did not give up your faith in me. You didn’t give it up even in the days of Antipas. Antipas, my faithful witness, was put to death in your city, where Satan lives.

You think these people are drunk. But they aren’t. It’s only nine o’clock in the morning!

But I said,“ Should a man like me run away? Should someone like me go into the temple just to save his life? No! I won’t go!”

“ Go! Stand in the temple courtyard,” the angel said.“ Tell the people all about this new life.”

When the day of Pentecost came, all the believers gathered in one place.Suddenly a sound came from heaven. It was like a strong wind blowing. It filled the whole house where they were sitting.

His speech won the leaders over. They called the apostles in and had them whipped. The leaders ordered them not to speak in Jesus’ name. Then they let the apostles go.The apostles were full of joy as they left the Sanhedrin. They considered it an honor to suffer shame for the name of Jesus.Every day they taught in the temple courtyards and from house to house. They never stopped telling people the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

I completely expect and hope that I won’t be ashamed in any way. I’m sure I will be brave enough. Now as always Christ will receive glory because of what happens to me. He will receive glory whether I live or die.

Do everything you say or do in the name of the Lord Jesus. Always give thanks to God the Father through Christ.

“ My friends, listen to me. Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body but can’t do any more than that.I will show you whom you should be afraid of. Be afraid of the one who has the authority to throw you into hell after you have been killed. Yes, I tell you, be afraid of him.Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? But God does not forget even one of them.In fact, he even counts every hair on your head! So don’t be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.“ What about someone who says in front of others that he knows me? I tell you, the Son of Man will say in front of God’s angels that he knows that person.But what about someone who says in front of others that he doesn’t know me? I, the Son of Man, will say in front of God’s angels that I don’t know him.

“ Anyone who comes to me must hate their father and mother. They must hate their wife and children. They must hate their brothers and sisters. And they must hate even their own life. Unless they do this, they can’t be my disciple.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but can’t kill the soul. Instead, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell.Aren’t two sparrows sold for only a penny? But not one of them falls to the ground outside your Father’s care.He even counts every hair on your head!So don’t be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.“ What if someone says in front of others that they know me? I will also say in front of my Father who is in heaven that I know them.But what if someone says in front of others that they don’t know me? I will say in front of my Father who is in heaven that I don’t know them.

I run to the Lord for safety. So how can you say to me,“ Fly away like a bird to your mountain.Look! Evil people are bending their bows. They are placing their arrows against the strings. They are planning to shoot from the shadows at those who have honest hearts.

When it was time to leave, we continued on our way. All the believers, including their whole families, went with us out of the city. There on the beach we got down on our knees to pray.

Hear me when I ask you to help us. Listen to your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Listen to us from heaven. It’s the place where you live. When you hear us, forgive us.
