When Daniel realized that a written decree had been issued, he entered his home, where the windows in his upper room opened toward Jerusalem. Three times daily he was kneeling and offering prayers and thanks to his God just as he had been accustomed to do previously.

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Daniel found out that the king had signed the order. In spite of that, he did just as he had always done before. He went home to his upstairs room. Its windows opened toward Jerusalem. He went to his room three times a day to pray. He got down on his knees and gave thanks to his God.

But Peter and the apostles replied,“ We must obey God rather than people.

Come! Let’s bow down and worship! Let’s kneel before the LORD, our creator!

Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.

constantly pray,in everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name.

But Peter sent them all outside, knelt down, and prayed. Turning to the body, he said,“ Tabitha, get up.” Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

I will praise the LORD at all times; my mouth will continually praise him.

But as for me, because of your great faithfulness I will enter your house; I will bow down toward your holy temple as I worship you.

“ When you direct your people to march out and fight their enemies, and they direct their prayers to the LORD toward his chosen city and this temple I built for your honor,

Then they said to the king,“ Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or to the edict that you issued. Three times daily he offers his prayer.”

I thought I had been banished from your sight, that I would never again see your holy temple!

When Solomon finished presenting all these prayers and requests to the LORD, he got up from before the altar of the LORD where he had kneeled and spread out his hands toward the sky.

About noon the next day, while they were on their way and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray.

When they return to you with all their heart and being in the land where they are held prisoner, and direct their prayers to you toward the land you gave to their ancestors, your chosen city, and the temple I built for your honor,then listen from your heavenly dwelling place to their prayers for help and vindicate them.Forgive all the rebellious acts of your sinful people and cause their captors to have mercy on them.

When all your people Israel pray and ask for help, as they acknowledge their pain and spread out their hands toward this temple,

Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer. The devil is about to have some of you thrown into prison so you may be tested, and you will experience suffering for ten days. Remain faithful even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown that is life itself.

and most of the brothers and sisters, having confidence in the Lord because of my imprisonment, now more than ever dare to speak the word fearlessly.

Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time for prayer, at three o’clock in the afternoon.

Solomon had made a bronze platform and had placed it in the middle of the enclosure. It was seven and one-half feet long, seven and one-half feet wide, and four and one-half feet high. He stood on it and then got down on his knees in front of the entire assembly of Israel. He spread out his hands toward the sky,

But to keep this matter from spreading any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.”And they called them in and ordered them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.But Peter and John replied,“ Whether it is right before God to obey you rather than God, you decide,

At the time of the evening offering I got up from my self-abasement, with my tunic and robe torn, and then dropped to my knees and spread my hands to the LORD my God.

When he had said these things, he knelt down with them all and prayed.

For this reason I kneel before the Father,

But I do not consider my life worth anything to myself, so that I may finish my task and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God’s grace.

Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I cry out to you all day long!

And now, Lord, pay attention to their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your message with great courage,

He went away from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed,

Then he fell to his knees and cried out with a loud voice,“ Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” When he had said this, he died.

‘ I know where you live– where Satan’s throne is. Yet you continue to cling to my name and you have not denied your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was killed in your city where Satan lives.

In spite of what you think, these men are not drunk, for it is only nine o’clock in the morning.

But I replied,“ Should a man like me run away? Would someone like me flee to the temple in order to save his life? I will not go!”

“ Go and stand in the temple courts and proclaim to the people all the words of this life.”

Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.Suddenly a sound like a violent wind blowing came from heaven and filled the entire house where they were sitting.

and they summoned the apostles and had them beaten. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them.So they left the council rejoicing because they had been considered worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.And every day both in the temple courts and from house to house, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus was the Christ.

My confident hope is that I will in no way be ashamed but that with complete boldness, even now as always, Christ will be exalted in my body, whether I live or die.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Yes, I tell you, fear him!Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.In fact, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are more valuable than many sparrows.“ I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before God’s angels.But the one who denies me before men will be denied before God’s angels.

“ If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, and wife and children, and brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.Even all the hairs on your head are numbered.So do not be afraid; you are more valuable than many sparrows.“ Whoever, then, acknowledges me before people, I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven.But whoever denies me before people, I will deny him also before my Father in heaven.

In the LORD I have taken shelter. How can you say to me,“ Flee to a mountain like a bird!For look, the wicked prepare their bows, they put their arrows on the strings, to shoot in the darkness at the morally upright.

When our time was over, we left and went on our way. All of them, with their wives and children, accompanied us outside of the city. After kneeling down on the beach and praying,

Respond to the request of your servant and your people Israel for this place. Hear from inside your heavenly dwelling place and respond favorably.
