Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Daniel found out that the king had signed the order. In spite of that, he did just as he had always done before. He went home to his upstairs room. Its windows opened toward Jerusalem. He went to his room three times a day to pray. He got down on his knees and gave thanks to his God.

Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Then Peter and the[ other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Pray without ceasing.In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of[ our] lips giving thanks to his name.

But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning[ him] to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise[ shall] continually[ be] in my mouth.

But as for me, I will come[ into] thy house in the multitude of thy mercy:[ and] in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and[ toward] the house that I have built for thy name:

Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which[ is] of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.

Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

And it was[ so], that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

And[ so] return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

What prayer and supplication soever be[ made] by any man,[ or] by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast[ some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer,[ being] the ninth[ hour].

For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven,

But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God,

And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

I know thy works, and where thou dwellest,[ even] where Satan’s seat[ is]: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas[ was] my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is[ but] the third hour of the day.

And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who[ is there], that,[ being] as I[ am], would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.

Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten[ them], they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

According to my earnest expectation and[ my] hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but[ that] with all boldness, as always,[ so] now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether[ it be] by life, or by death.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed,[ do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and[ toward] the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

If any[ man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee[ as] a bird to your mountain?For, lo, the wicked bend[ their] bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till[ we were] out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.

And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.
