這話在王口中，還未說完，就有聲音從天上傳下來，說：『尼布甲尼撒王啊，有神言是對你說的：國權已經離開了你了。

惡人的歡躍就是短暫，不拜上帝之人的喜樂只是眨眼間麼？

但他們所貪慾的、他們還沒有生厭，食物還在他們口中時，上帝的怒氣就向他們上騰了，殺了他們中間肥壯的人，使以色列精兵屈身而死。

於是王所有的博士都進了來，卻不能讀那文字，也不能把解析告訴王。

『於是從「神在」那裏就有手掌伸出，這文字便題簽出來。以下這句就是所題簽的文字：「彌尼，彌尼，提客勒，烏法珥新。」『這話的解析是這樣：「彌尼」即是：「上帝已經數算了你執掌國政的年日，使它終止」；「提客勒」即是：「你被稱在天平裏，被發現為虧欠的」；「毘勒斯」即是：「你的國崩裂了、歸與瑪代和波斯人。」』

我看見死了的人、大的小的、都站在寶座前：案卷都展開了。另有一卷是生命冊、也展開了。死了的人、都從這些案卷所記的、照他們所行的受審判。於是海便交出了其中的死人；死亡和陰間也交出了其中的死人；他們都照各人所行的受審判。然後死亡和陰間也被丟在火湖裏。這火湖就是第二次的死。若有人在生命冊上沒被記名的、就被丟在火湖裏。

然後對自己說，人哪，你有許多財物存放着、做許多年的用處；你安逸度日，喫喝快樂吧！」但上帝卻對他說：「糊塗人哪，就在今天夜裏，你的財物就要要你的命了！你所豫備的、要歸誰呢？」
