这话还在王的口中，就有声音从天上降下，说：“尼布甲尼撒王啊，这是对你的宣告：你的国权从你那里被移除了！

当他们贪得无厌，食物还在他们口中的时候，神的怒气就向他们上腾，他杀死了他们当中肥壮的，使以色列的青年人倒下。

那时，王所有的智慧人都来了，却不能读出这文字，也不能把它的释义显明给王。

于是，有一只手从神那里被派来，写下了这文字。“所写下的文字是：弥尼，弥尼，提客勒，赔珥新。这句话的释义是这样的：‘弥尼’就是神已经数算了你国的年日，使它终结了；‘提客勒’就是在天平上你已经被称量了，发现了亏缺；‘赔珥新’就是你的国已经被分割，赐给了米底亚和波斯。”

我又看见死去的人，无论尊贵卑微，都站在那宝座前。书卷都打开了；另有一个书卷也打开了，这就是生命册。死去的人都凭着书卷中所记的，照着他们的行为受审判。于是，海洋交出了其中的死人，死亡和阴间也交出了其中的死人；每个人都照着自己的行为受审判。然后，死亡和阴间被丢进火湖里，这火湖就是第二次的死亡。凡是名字没有被记在生命册上的人，都被丢进了火湖里。

现在智慧人和占卜者都被带到我面前，为要他们读出这文字，并把它的释义显明给我，但他们却不能讲明这句话的释义；

屡次受责，仍然硬着颈项的人，顷刻之间就会被摧毁，无法挽回。

抹去了在敌对我们的那些规条中反对我们的债务记录，并且把它从中除掉，钉在十字架上。

这话立刻就应验在尼布甲尼撒身上；他从人间被赶出，像牛那样吃牧草，身体被天上的露水湿透，直到他的头发长得像鹰的羽毛，指甲长得像鸟的爪子。

因为你们自己明确地知道，主的日子来临，就像夜里的贼来临那样。当人们正说“和平”、“安全”的时候，毁灭那时就突然临到他们，就像孕妇的临产阵痛那样，他们绝不能逃脱。

然后，我要对我的灵魂说：灵魂哪，你拥有了很多好东西，足以享用多年，你就休息、吃喝、庆祝吧。’“可是神对他说：‘你这愚妄的人哪！今夜，他们就要召回你的灵魂了。那么，你所预备的要归谁呢？’
