竟高抬自己，敌对天上的主，使人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前来，你和你的大臣、妻妾、妃嫔用这些器皿喝酒；你又赞美那些不能看见、不能听见、什么都不能知道，用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所做的神，却没有把荣耀归给那手中有你的气息，和那掌管你一切命途的神。

反而对天上的主高举自己，让人把他殿中的器皿带到你面前来，你和你的大臣们、妻子们、妃嫔们都用这些来喝酒；你称赞那些不能看、不能听、不能知——用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所做的神明，却不尊崇那位掌握你的气息、掌握你一切道路的神。

反而對天上的主高舉自己，讓人把他殿中的器皿帶到你面前來，你和你的大臣們、妻子們、妃嬪們都用這些來喝酒；你稱讚那些不能看、不能聽、不能知——用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神明，卻不尊崇那位掌握你的氣息、掌握你一切道路的神。

惟自高而抗天上之主、取其室中之器、至於爾前、爾與大臣后妃、用以飲酒、頌美金銀銅鐵木石之神、即無見無聞無知者、至於掌爾氣息、定爾道途之上帝、則不尊榮之、

惟驕其志、逆天之主、命取厥殿之器、王公后妃、用之飲酒、譽揚金銀銅鐵木石所造之上帝、彼不見不聞、不識不知、至於賜爾呼吸、整爾步履之上帝、爾反不頌美之、

Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.

You have taken your stand against the Lord of heaven. You had your servants bring cups from his temple to you. You and your nobles drank wine from them. So did your wives and concubines. You praised your gods. The statues of those gods are made out of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood or stone. They can’t see or hear or understand anything. But you didn’t honor God. He holds in his hand your very life and everything you do.

but you have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven. And the vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, but the God in whose hand is your breath, and whose are all your ways, you have not honored.

For you have proudly defied the Lord of heaven and have had these cups from his Temple brought before you. You and your nobles and your wives and concubines have been drinking wine from them while praising gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone— gods that neither see nor hear nor know anything at all. But you have not honored the God who gives you the breath of life and controls your destiny!

Instead, you have exalted yourself against the Lord of the heavens. The vessels from his house were brought to you, and as you and your nobles, wives, and concubines drank wine from them, you praised the gods made of silver and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or understand. But you have not glorified the God who holds your life-breath in his hand and who controls the whole course of your life.

but you have risen up against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your nobles, your wives, and your concubines have been drinking wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor understand. But the God in whose hand are your life breath and all your ways, you have not glorified.

And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

You praised the gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone– gods that cannot see or hear or comprehend! But you have not glorified the God who has in his control your very breath and all your ways!

but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways.

凡動物的生命和人類的氣息都在他手中。

耶和華啊，我知道人的道路不由自己，行路的人也不能定自己的腳步。

「『你辱罵誰，褻瀆誰，揚起聲來，高舉眼目攻擊誰呢？你攻擊的是以色列的聖者。

你們要招集一切弓箭手來攻擊巴比倫，在巴比倫四圍安營，不容一人逃脫。要照着它所做的報應它；它怎樣待人，你們也要怎樣待它，因為它向耶和華－以色列的聖者狂傲。

現在我－尼布甲尼撒讚美、尊崇、恭敬天上的王，因為他所行的全都信實，他所做的盡都公平。那行事驕傲的，他能降為卑。」

因萬軍之耶和華的一個日子要臨到所有驕傲狂妄的，臨到一切自高的，使他們降為卑；

上帝豈不察看我的道路，數點我所有的腳步嗎？

人的腳步為耶和華所定，人豈能明白自己的道路呢？

他們的偶像是金的，是銀的，是人手所造的，有口卻不能言，有眼卻不能看，有耳卻不能聽，有鼻卻不能聞，有手卻不能摸，有腳卻不能走，有喉卻不能說話。造它們的要像它們一樣，凡靠它們的也必如此。

偶像有甚麼益處呢？製造者雕刻它，鑄成偶像，作虛假的教師；製造者倚靠的是自己所做的啞巴偶像。禍哉！那對木頭說「醒起」，對啞巴石頭說「起來」的人！偶像豈能教導人呢？看哪，它以金銀包裹，其中並無氣息。

你果然打敗了以東，就心高氣傲。你以此為榮，就待在自己家裏算了吧，為何要惹禍，使自己和猶大一同敗亡呢？」

被造的，沒有一樣在他面前不是顯露的；萬物在他眼前都是赤露敞開的，我們必須向他交賬。

將列國的神明扔在火裏，因為它們不是神明，是人手所造的，是木頭、石頭，所以被滅絕了。

因為，他們雖然知道上帝，卻不把他當作上帝榮耀他，也不感謝他。他們的思想變為虛妄，無知的心昏暗了。他們自以為聰明，反成了愚昧，將不能朽壞之上帝的榮耀變為偶像，仿照必朽壞的人、飛禽、走獸、爬蟲的形像。

我行路，我躺臥，你都細察；你也深知我一切所行的。

龍又賜給那隻獸說誇大褻瀆話的口，又賜給牠權柄可以任意行事四十二個月。那獸就開口向上帝說褻瀆的話，褻瀆上帝的名和他的帳幕，就是那些住在天上的。

也不用人手去服侍，好像缺少甚麼似的；自己倒將生命、氣息、萬物賜給萬人。

耶和華說：「現在我要興起，要高升，要受尊崇。

耶和華上帝用地上的塵土造人，將生命之氣吹進他的鼻孔，這人就成了有靈的活人。

非利士人的領袖聚集，要向他們的神明大袞獻大祭，並且慶祝，說：「我們的神明把我們的仇敵參孫交在我們手中了。」

他若專心為己，將靈和氣收歸自己，凡血肉之軀必一同死亡；世人必歸於塵土。

剛信主的，不可作監督，恐怕他自高自大，落在魔鬼所受的懲罰裏。

他為亞伯蘭祝福，說：「願至高的上帝、天地的主賜福給亞伯蘭！

外邦的偶像是金的，是銀的，是人手所造的，有口卻不能言，有眼卻不能看，有耳卻不能聽，口中也沒有氣息。

看哪，惡人自高自大，心不正直；惟義人必因他的信得生。

天，是耶和華的天；地，他卻給了世人。

他們從錢囊中倒出金子，用天平秤出銀子，雇銀匠造成神像，他們又俯伏，又叩拜。他們抬起神像，扛在肩上，安置在定處，使它站立，不離本位；人呼求它，它卻不回答，也無法救人脫離災難。

他的氣一斷，就歸回塵土，他所打算的，當日就消滅了。

那創造諸天，鋪張穹蒼，鋪開地與地的出產，賜氣息給地上眾人，賜生命給行走其上之人的上帝耶和華如此說：

我們生活、行動、存在都在於他。就如你們的詩人也有人說：『我們也是他所生的。』既然我們是上帝所生的，就不應該以為上帝的神性像人用手藝和心思所雕刻的金、銀、石像一般。

伯沙撒在歡飲之間，吩咐人將他父尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷聖殿所擄掠的金銀器皿拿來，好使王與大臣、王后、妃嬪用這器皿飲酒。於是他們把聖殿，就是耶路撒冷上帝殿中所擄掠的金器皿拿來，王和大臣、王后、妃嬪就用這器皿飲酒。他們飲酒，讚美金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石造的神明。

非利士人擄去上帝的約櫃，從以便‧以謝帶到亞實突。非利士人擄了上帝的約櫃，帶進大袞廟，放在大袞的旁邊。次日，亞實突人清早起來，看哪，大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，他們就扶起大袞，把它放回原處。又次日，他們清早起來，看哪，大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，並且大袞的頭和兩手都在門檻上折斷，只剩下大袞的軀幹。因此，大袞的祭司和所有進大袞廟的人，都不踏亞實突的大袞廟的門檻，直到今日。耶和華的手重重擊打亞實突人，使他們恐懼，使亞實突和亞實突周圍的人都生痔瘡。亞實突人見這情況，就說：「以色列上帝的約櫃不可留在我們這裏，因為他的手重重擊打我們和我們的神明大袞」。他們就派人去請非利士的眾領袖來聚集，對他們說：「我們向以色列上帝的約櫃應當怎樣做呢？」他們說：「可以把以色列上帝的約櫃運到迦特去。」於是他們把以色列上帝的約櫃運到那裏。運到之後，耶和華的手擊打那城，使那城的人非常驚慌，無論大小都生痔瘡。

「人子啊，你要對推羅的君王說，主耶和華如此說：你心裏高傲，說：『我是神明；我在海中坐諸神之位。』雖然你把你的心比作神明的心，你卻不過是人，並不是神明！

關於吃祭過偶像的食物，我們知道「偶像在世上算不得甚麼」；也知道「上帝只有一位，沒有別的」。

你因美麗心中高傲，因榮光而敗壞智慧，我已將你拋棄在地，把你擺在君王面前，好叫他們目睹眼見。

所以主耶和華如此說：「因它高大，樹頂高聳入雲，心高氣傲，

你靠自己的大智慧以貿易增添財寶，又因你的財寶心裏高傲；

你轉臉，牠們就驚惶；你收回牠們的氣，牠們就死亡，歸於塵土。
