竟高抬自己，敌对天上的主，使人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前来，你和你的大臣、妻妾、妃嫔用这些器皿喝酒；你又赞美那些不能看见、不能听见、什么都不能知道，用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所做的神，却没有把荣耀归给那手中有你的气息，和那掌管你一切命途的神。

反而对天上的主高举自己，让人把他殿中的器皿带到你面前来，你和你的大臣们、妻子们、妃嫔们都用这些来喝酒；你称赞那些不能看、不能听、不能知——用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所做的神明，却不尊崇那位掌握你的气息、掌握你一切道路的神。

Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.

You have taken your stand against the Lord of heaven. You had your servants bring cups from his temple to you. You and your nobles drank wine from them. So did your wives and concubines. You praised your gods. The statues of those gods are made out of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood or stone. They can’t see or hear or understand anything. But you didn’t honor God. He holds in his hand your very life and everything you do.

but you have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven. And the vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, but the God in whose hand is your breath, and whose are all your ways, you have not honored.

For you have proudly defied the Lord of heaven and have had these cups from his Temple brought before you. You and your nobles and your wives and concubines have been drinking wine from them while praising gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone— gods that neither see nor hear nor know anything at all. But you have not honored the God who gives you the breath of life and controls your destiny!

Instead, you have exalted yourself against the Lord of the heavens. The vessels from his house were brought to you, and as you and your nobles, wives, and concubines drank wine from them, you praised the gods made of silver and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or understand. But you have not glorified the God who holds your life-breath in his hand and who controls the whole course of your life.

but you have risen up against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your nobles, your wives, and your concubines have been drinking wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor understand. But the God in whose hand are your life breath and all your ways, you have not glorified.

And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

But you have not glorified the God who has in his control your very breath and all your ways!

You have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, or hear, or know; and you have not glorified the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways.

凡活物的生命和人類的氣息都在他手中。

耶和華啊，我曉得人的道路不由自己，行路的人也不能定自己的腳步。

你辱罵誰，褻瀆誰？揚起聲來，高舉眼目攻擊誰呢？乃是攻擊以色列的聖者。

「招集一切弓箭手來攻擊巴比倫。要在巴比倫四圍安營，不要容一人逃脫，照着她所做的報應她；她怎樣待人，也要怎樣待她，因為她向耶和華－以色列的聖者發了狂傲。

現在我－尼布甲尼撒讚美、尊崇、恭敬天上的王；因為他所做的全都誠實，他所行的也都公平。那行動驕傲的，他能降為卑。

必有萬軍耶和華降罰的一個日子，要臨到驕傲狂妄的；一切自高的都必降為卑；

神豈不是察看我的道路，數點我的腳步呢？

人的腳步為耶和華所定；人豈能明白自己的路呢？

他們的偶像是金的，銀的，是人手所造的，有口卻不能言，有眼卻不能看，有耳卻不能聽，有鼻卻不能聞，有手卻不能摸，有腳卻不能走，有喉嚨也不能出聲。造他的要和他一樣；凡靠他的也要如此。

雕刻的偶像，人將它刻出來，有甚麼益處呢？鑄造的偶像就是虛謊的師傅。製造者倚靠這啞巴偶像有甚麼益處呢？對木偶說：醒起！對啞巴石像說：起來！那人有禍了！這個還能教訓人嗎？看哪，是包裹金銀的，其中毫無氣息。

你打敗了以東人就心高氣傲，你以此為榮耀，在家裏安居就罷了，為何要惹禍，使自己和猶大國一同敗亡呢？」

並且被造的沒有一樣在他面前不顯然的；原來萬物在那與我們有關係的主眼前，都是赤露敞開的。

將列國的神像都扔在火裏；因為他本不是神，乃是人手所造的，是木頭、石頭的，所以滅絕他。

因為，他們雖然知道神，卻不當作神榮耀他，也不感謝他。他們的思念變為虛妄，無知的心就昏暗了。自稱為聰明，反成了愚拙，將不能朽壞之神的榮耀變為偶像，彷彿必朽壞的人和飛禽、走獸、昆蟲的樣式。

我行路，我躺臥，你都細察；你也深知我一切所行的。

又賜給牠說誇大褻瀆話的口，又有權柄賜給牠，可以任意而行四十二個月。獸就開口向神說褻瀆的話，褻瀆神的名並他的帳幕，以及那些住在天上的。

也不用人手服事，好像缺少甚麼；自己倒將生命、氣息、萬物，賜給萬人。

耶和華說：現在我要起來；我要興起；我要勃然而興。

耶和華神用地上的塵土造人，將生氣吹在他鼻孔裏，他就成了有靈的活人，名叫亞當。

非利士人的首領聚集，要給他們的神大袞獻大祭，並且歡樂，因為他們說：「我們的神將我們的仇敵參孫交在我們手中了。」

他若專心為己，將靈和氣收歸自己，凡有血氣的就必一同死亡；世人必仍歸塵土。

初入教的不可作監督，恐怕他自高自大，就落在魔鬼所受的刑罰裏。

他為亞伯蘭祝福，說：「願天地的主、至高的神賜福與亞伯蘭！

外邦的偶像是金的，銀的，是人手所造的；有口卻不能言，有眼卻不能看，有耳卻不能聽，口中也沒有氣息。

迦勒底人自高自大，心不正直；惟義人因信得生。

天，是耶和華的天；地，他卻給了世人。

那從囊中抓金子，用天平平銀子的人，雇銀匠製造神像，他們又俯伏，又叩拜。他們將神像擡起，扛在肩上，安置在定處，它就站立，不離本位；人呼求它，它不能答應，也不能救人脫離患難。

他的氣一斷，就歸回塵土；他所打算的，當日就消滅了。

創造諸天，鋪張穹蒼，將地和地所出的一併鋪開，賜氣息給地上的眾人，又賜靈性給行在其上之人的神耶和華，他如此說：

我們生活、動作、存留，都在乎他。就如你們作詩的，有人說：『我們也是他所生的。』我們既是神所生的，就不當以為神的神性像人用手藝、心思所雕刻的金、銀、石。

伯沙撒歡飲之間，吩咐人將他父尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷殿中所掠的金銀器皿拿來，王與大臣、皇后、妃嬪好用這器皿飲酒。於是他們把耶路撒冷神殿庫房中所掠的金器皿拿來，王和大臣、皇后、妃嬪就用這器皿飲酒。他們飲酒，讚美金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所造的神。

非利士人將神的約櫃從以便以謝擡到亞實突。非利士人將神的約櫃擡進大袞廟，放在大袞的旁邊。次日清早，亞實突人起來，見大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，就把大袞仍立在原處。又次日清早起來，見大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，並且大袞的頭和兩手都在門檻上折斷，只剩下大袞的殘體。（因此，大袞的祭司和一切進亞實突、大袞廟的人都不踏大袞廟的門檻，直到今日。）耶和華的手重重加在亞實突人身上，敗壞他們，使他們生痔瘡。亞實突和亞實突的四境都是如此。亞實突人見這光景，就說：「以色列神的約櫃不可留在我們這裏，因為他的手重重加在我們和我們神大袞的身上」；就打發人去請非利士的眾首領來聚集，問他們說：「我們向以色列神的約櫃應當怎樣行呢？」他們回答說：「可以將以色列神的約櫃運到迦特去。」於是將以色列神的約櫃運到那裏去。運到之後，耶和華的手攻擊那城，使那城的人大大驚慌，無論大小都生痔瘡。

「人子啊，你對泰爾君王說，主耶和華如此說：因你心裏高傲，說：我是神；我在海中坐神之位。你雖然居心自比神，也不過是人，並不是神！

論到吃祭偶像之物，我們知道偶像在世上算不得甚麼，也知道神只有一位，再沒有別的神。

你因美麗心中高傲，又因榮光敗壞智慧，我已將你摔倒在地，使你倒在君王面前，好叫他們目睹眼見。

所以主耶和華如此說：「因它高大，樹尖插入雲中，心驕氣傲，

你靠自己的大智慧和貿易增添資財，又因資財心裏高傲。

你掩面，牠們便驚惶；你收回牠們的氣，牠們就死亡，歸於塵土。
