惟驕其志、逆天之主、命取厥殿之器、王公后妃、用之飲酒、譽揚金銀銅鐵木石所造之上帝、彼不見不聞、不識不知、至於賜爾呼吸、整爾步履之上帝、爾反不頌美之、

Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life and all your ways.

You have taken your stand against the Lord of heaven. You had your servants bring cups from his temple to you. You and your nobles drank wine from them. So did your wives and concubines. You praised your gods. The statues of those gods are made out of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood or stone. They can’t see or hear or understand anything. But you didn’t honor God. He holds in his hand your very life and everything you do.

but you have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven. And the vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, but the God in whose hand is your breath, and whose are all your ways, you have not honored.

For you have proudly defied the Lord of heaven and have had these cups from his Temple brought before you. You and your nobles and your wives and concubines have been drinking wine from them while praising gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone— gods that neither see nor hear nor know anything at all. But you have not honored the God who gives you the breath of life and controls your destiny!

Instead, you have exalted yourself against the Lord of the heavens. The vessels from his house were brought to you, and as you and your nobles, wives, and concubines drank wine from them, you praised the gods made of silver and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or understand. But you have not glorified the God who holds your life-breath in his hand and who controls the whole course of your life.

but you have risen up against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your nobles, your wives, and your concubines have been drinking wine out of them; and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, nor understand. But the God in whose hand are your life breath and all your ways, you have not glorified.

And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

But you have not glorified the God who has in his control your very breath and all your ways!

你辱罵誰、褻瀆誰呢？你揚起聲音、高舉眼目針對的是誰呢？是針對以色列的聖者！

如今我尼布甲尼撒稱讚、高舉、尊崇天上的王，因為他一切的作為都是確實的，一切的道路都是公正的，他能使行事驕傲的人降卑。

因為必有萬軍之耶和華的一個日子，臨到所有傲慢高傲的和所有自高的，使他們成為卑賤；

人的腳步由耶和華而定；世人怎能明白自己的道路呢？

列國的偶像是銀的、金的，是人手所造的：它們有嘴卻不能說，有眼卻不能看；有耳卻不能聽，有鼻卻不能聞；有手卻不能摸，有腳卻不能走，也不能用喉嚨發出聲音。那些造它們的、所有依靠它們的，都會像它們那樣。

並且被造之物在神面前，沒有一樣不是顯明的；萬有在他眼前，都是赤裸敞開的；我們都要向他交代。

又把它們的神像扔進火中；那些神像之所以被滅絕，是因為它們不是神，只不過是人手所造的，是用木頭、石頭造的！

所以人是已經知道神的，但是卻不把他當做神來榮耀他，也不感謝他；相反，他們在思想上變得虛妄，他們無知的心就昏暗了。他們自稱是有智慧的，卻成了愚拙，甚至用偶像，就是會朽壞的人、飛禽、走獸、爬行動物的形像，來取代那不朽之神的榮耀。

我行路、我躺臥，你都細察；你熟悉我的一切道路。

那獸被賜予了一張說大話和褻瀆話的口；牠又被賜予了權柄，可以任意行事四十二個月。牠就開口向神說褻瀆的話，褻瀆了他的名和他的居所，褻瀆了那些居住在天上的。

也不受人手的服事，好像缺少什麼似的，因為他自己把生命、氣息和萬有賜給萬人。

耶和華說：「現在我要起來，現在我要被高舉，現在我要受尊崇。

耶和華神用地上的塵土塑造人，把生命的氣息吹進他的鼻孔裡，那人就成了有生命的人。

做監督的不可以是新信徒，免得他自以為是，就落在魔鬼所受的懲罰裡；

他祝福亞伯蘭，說：「願至高神、天地的主宰祝福亞伯蘭！

列國的偶像是銀的、金的，是人手所造的：它們有嘴卻不能說，有眼卻不能看；有耳卻不能聽，口中也沒有氣息；

諸天，是耶和華的諸天；大地，他卻賜給了世人。

那些不惜從錢袋裡倒出金子，用天平稱出銀子的人，雇用金匠造出神像，然後俯伏下拜。他們把神像抬起，扛在肩上，又把它安置就位；它就在那裡呆立不動。儘管人向它呼求，它也不回應，更不能拯救人脫離患難。

他們的氣一斷，就歸回塵土；他們所謀劃的當天就消亡了。

神耶和華創造諸天，展開穹蒼，鋪張地和地所出的一切，又把氣息賜給地上的眾人，把靈賜給行在其中的人——神耶和華如此說：

因為我們活著、行動、生存，都在於他，正如你們中間的一些詩人也曾經說過，『原來我們也是他的後裔。』所以我們既然是神的後裔，就不應該認為神性是彷彿用人的手藝和心思所雕刻的金、銀、石像。

伯沙撒酒酣之時，吩咐人把他先王尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷的聖殿中取走的金銀器皿帶來，好讓王和他的大臣們、妻子們、妃嬪們都用這些來喝酒。於是人把聖殿——耶路撒冷神的殿中所取走的金器皿帶來，王和他的大臣們、妻子們、妃嬪們就用這些來喝酒。他們一邊喝酒，一邊稱讚那些用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神明。

非利士人奪去神的約櫃，把它從以便-以謝帶到阿實突。非利士人抬著神的約櫃，把它帶進大袞的廟，放在大袞旁邊。次日，阿實突人早早起來，看哪，大袞面朝地仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前。他們就把大袞扶起來，放回原處。又次日清晨，他們早早起來，看哪，大袞又面朝地仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，大袞的頭和雙手在門檻上折斷了，只剩下軀幹。因此直到今天，大袞的祭司們和所有進大袞廟的人都不踩阿實突的大袞廟門檻。耶和華的手重重地壓在阿實突人身上，使他們驚恐不安；他用腫物擊打阿實突及其四境。阿實突人看見這情形，就說：「以色列神的約櫃不可留在我們這裡，因為他的手重壓著我們和我們的神大袞。」於是他們派人招聚非利士眾首領到他們那裡，問：「我們該怎麼處理以色列神的約櫃呢？」首領們回答：「可以把以色列神的約櫃轉移到迦特去。」他們就把以色列神的約櫃轉移了。他們把它轉移過去之後，耶和華的手臨到那城，引起極大的恐慌；他擊打那城的人，無論老少都長出了腫物。

關於吃祭過偶像的食物，我們知道「世界上的偶像是虛無的」，也知道「除了神一位之外，沒有別的神。」

你隱藏你的臉，牠們就惶恐；你收回牠們的氣息，牠們就斷氣，歸回塵土。
