While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them.

古列王也將永恆主之殿的器皿拿了出來；這些器皿是尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷所拿出，而放在自己神廟的。波斯王古列派由司庫官米提利達經手將這些器皿拿出來，數交給猶大的首領設巴薩。器皿的數目是：金盤三十個、銀盤一千個、刀二十九把、金碗三十個、銀碗二千四百一十個、別樣的器皿一千件；金銀器皿共有五千四百件。流亡的人從巴比倫上耶路撒冷的時候，設巴薩將這一切器皿都帶上來。

火鼎、碗、一切金器、一切銀器、護衛長也都把它當金銀拿了去。

對祭司們和這眾民我也告訴他們說：『永恆主這麼說：你們可不要聽你們的神言人的話，他們向你們傳神言說：「看吧，永恆主殿中的器皿就快要從巴比倫帶回來了」；其實他們向你們傳的是假神言。你們不要聽他們；只管服事巴比倫王，以得存活。為甚麼要讓這城變為荒廢呢？他們如果是神言人，如果有永恆主的話傳與他們，那麼就讓他們祈求萬軍之永恆主使那在永恆主殿中、和猶大王宮中、以及在耶路撒冷剩下的器皿、不被帶到巴比倫去呀。因為萬軍之永恆主是這麼說、論到這些柱子、這些銅海、和盆座、以及剩在這城裏的器皿、就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒使猶大王約雅敬的兒子耶哥尼雅、和猶大耶路撒冷一切顯貴的人、從耶路撒冷流亡到巴比倫去時候所沒有拿去的器皿：論到那在永恆主殿中、和猶大王宮中、以及耶路撒冷剩下的器皿、萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝是這麼說的：那些器皿必被帶到巴比倫，存在那裏，直到我眷顧以色列人的日子，那時我必將這些器皿帶上來、交還這地：這是永恆主發神諭說的。』

碗盆、火鼎、碗、鍋、臺燈、碟子、大盆、無論金的銀的、護衛長也都拿它當做金子銀子帶了去。

竟對着天上的主高抬自己，叫人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和你大臣、王后、妃嬪竟用這些器皿來喝酒；你又稱頌那些金銀銅鐵、木頭石頭的神，就是那些不能看、不能聽、不能知道的；至於那手中執掌你氣息、那管理你一生行程的上帝、你卻不將尊榮歸與他。

迦勒底王將上帝殿裏所有的器皿、無論大小、和永恆主殿裏的寶物、以及王和大臣們的寶物、都帶到巴比倫去。

他們喝酒，稱頌了金銀銅鐵木頭石頭的神。

列國都必服事他和他的兒子、孫子，直到他本國之地——甚至是他本人——遭報的時期來到；那時許多國許多大王都必使他做奴僕。

以色列王亞哈的兒子約蘭十二年、猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝登極作了王。亞哈謝登極的時候二十二歲；他在耶路撒冷作王有一年。他母親名叫亞他利雅，是以色列王暗利的孫女。亞哈謝走亞哈家所走的路，行永恆主所看為壞的事，像亞哈家一樣，因為他是亞哈家的女婿。

於是但以理就被領進到王面前。王應時問但以理說：『你就是但以理麼，就是在猶大被擄的人之中、我王我父從猶大擄來的那位麼？

王啊，至高的上帝曾將國位、大權、尊榮、威嚴、賜給你父尼布甲尼撒；

到了年頭、尼布甲尼撒差遣了人將約雅斤帶到巴比倫，連同永恆主殿裏珍寶的器皿都帶去；他就立約雅斤的叔叔西底家作王來管理猶大和耶路撒冷。

在你國中有一個人，他裏頭有聖神明之靈。你父在世的日子，發現這人心中有亮光、有通達，有智慧，好像神明的智慧；你父尼布甲尼撒王曾經立了他為術士及用法術的、跟迦勒底博學的人和占卜者、的領袖；

大衛對他說：『你不要怕；我一定要因你父親約拿單的緣故以厚愛待你，將你祖父掃羅的一切田地都歸還你；你也可以經常在我席上喫飯。』

他娶了她以後、又娶押沙龍的孫女瑪迦；瑪迦給他生了亞比雅、亞太、細撒、示羅密。

連他祖母瑪迦、亞撒王也給廢掉、不讓她做太后，因為她為亞舍拉女神造了可憎的像；亞撒把那可憎的像砍了下來，搗得粉碎，燒在汲淪谿谷邊；
