While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them.

我亦告諸祭司與此民眾曰、主如是云、爾中之先知、向爾預言曰、主殿之器皿、必自巴比倫速返、爾勿信其言、彼告爾誕妄、以為預言、勿聽之、當服事巴比倫王、則可得生、何為欲使斯邑傾圮、如彼誠為先知、誠奉主之命、則可祈萬有之主、使在主殿、猶大王宮、及耶路撒冷所遺之器皿、不遷於巴比倫、萬有之主、有言論及銅柱銅海、與盤座、及斯邑所遺諸器皿、即巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、以猶大王約雅敬子耶哥尼亞及猶大耶路撒冷之侯伯、自耶路撒冷擄至巴比倫之時、未取之器皿、萬有之主以色列之天主如是云、在主殿、猶大王宮、及耶路撒冷所遺之器皿、俱必遷於巴比倫而存於彼、待我眷顧斯民之日、我則使人攜之返、仍歸斯地、

所有之盤、香爐、盂、釜、燈臺、碗、樽、或金者、或銀者、侍衛長悉攜之去、

竟向天上之主自高、使人將其殿之器皿、取至爾前、爾與爾大臣及妃嬪、以之飲酒、讚美金銀銅鐵木石所造諸神、彼不見不聞不知、惟掌爾生氣生氣或作呼吸及爾命運爾命運原文作爾諸道塗之天主、爾反不頌揚之、

天主殿中大小器皿及寶物、並王與諸牧伯之寶物、悉攜至巴比倫、

眾飲酒、讚美金銀銅鐵木石所造諸神、

列國之民必服事之、延及子孫、迨滅其國之時已屆、則眾多之邦國、強大之君王、必勒令巴比倫王服事、

以色列王亞哈子約蘭十二年、猶大王約蘭子亞哈謝、即位為王、亞哈謝即位時、年二十有二歲、都耶路撒冷、在位一年、其母名亞他利雅、為以色列王暗利孫女、亞哈謝效亞哈家之所為、行惡於主前、與亞哈家無異、蓋其為亞哈家之壻也、

於是但以理召至王前、王謂之曰、昔我父王父王或作祖王自猶大地、遷移猶大民至此、爾即其中之但以理乎、

王歟、至上之天主、以國威尊榮、賜爾父尼布甲尼撒、

歲暮、尼布甲尼撒遣人攜約雅斤至巴比倫、亦擄掠主殿諸珍器、立約雅斤叔叔原文作兄西底家、為猶大及耶路撒冷王、○

後、更娶押沙龍女瑪迦、從之生亞比雅、又名亞比安亞太、細撒、示羅密、

亞撒之祖母瑪迦、作女神亞舍拉之偶像、故貶其太后之位、斫其偶像、搗之成粉、焚於汲淪溪旁、
