While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them.

我又對眾祭司和這眾民說：“耶和華這樣說：‘你們的先知對你們預言，說：耶和華殿中的器皿快要從巴比倫送回來了。他們的話，你們不要聽從，因為他們對你們說的是虛假的預言。你們不要聽從他們，只要服事巴比倫王，就可以生存。為甚麼要使這城變為廢墟呢？如果他們是真先知，如果他們有耶和華的話，就讓他們向萬軍之耶和華祈求，使那些留在耶和華殿中和猶大王宮中，以及在耶路撒冷中的器皿，不會被送到巴比倫去。’因為萬軍之耶和華這樣說，論到這些柱子、銅海、盆座和留在這城其餘的器皿，就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒把猶大王約雅敬的兒子耶哥尼雅，以及猶大和耶路撒冷所有的貴族，從耶路撒冷擄到巴比倫去的時候，沒有拿走的器皿；論到那些留在耶和華殿中和猶大王宮中，以及在耶路撒冷中的器皿，萬軍之耶和華以色列的神這樣說：‘這些器皿必被送到巴比倫，存在那裡，直到我眷顧這些器皿的日子。那時，我必把它們帶上來，放回這地方。’”這是耶和華的宣告。

竟高抬自己，敵對天上的主，使人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前來，你和你的大臣、妻妾、妃嬪用這些器皿喝酒；你又讚美那些不能看見、不能聽見、甚麼都不能知道，用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神，卻沒有把榮耀歸給那手中有你的氣息，和那掌管你一切命途的神。

迦勒底王把神殿裡所有的器皿，無論大小，和耶和華殿裡的財寶，以及王和眾領袖的財寶，都帶到巴比倫去。

他們喝酒，讚美那些用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神。

列國都要服事他和他的兒子、孫子，直到他本國遭報的時候來到；那時，許多國家和大君王都要奴役他。

以色列王亞哈的兒子約蘭在位第十二年，猶大王約蘭的兒子亞哈謝作猶大王。他登基時是二十二歲，在耶路撒冷作王一年。他母親名叫亞他利雅，是以色列王暗利的孫女。他照著亞哈家的道路而行，行耶和華看為惡的事，好像亞哈家一樣，因為他是亞哈家的女婿。

於是但以理被帶到王面前，王問但以理說：“你就是我先王從猶大擄來的猶大人但以理嗎？

王啊！至高的神曾把國位、權勢、光榮和威嚴賜給你先祖尼布甲尼撒。

過了年，尼布甲尼撒派人去把約雅斤和耶和華殿裡的珍貴的器皿，一起帶到巴比倫來。他立了約雅斤的叔叔西底家，作猶大和耶路撒冷的王。

在你國中有一個人，他裡面有聖神的靈；你先祖在世的日子，發現這人有灼見，有聰明，有智慧，好像神的智慧一樣。你先祖尼布甲尼撒王，就是王的先祖，曾立他為術士、用法術的，以及迦勒底人和占星家的領袖。

大衛對他說：“你不要怕，我必因你父親約拿單的緣故，以慈愛待你，把你祖父掃羅所有的田地都歸還給你；你也可以常常與我同席吃飯。”

後來，羅波安又娶了押沙龍的外孫女瑪迦；瑪迦給他生了亞比雅、亞太、細撒和示羅密。

亞撒王也廢掉他的祖母瑪迦太后的位，因為她曾給亞舍拉做了可憎的像；亞撒把她那可憎的像砍了下來，搗得粉碎，燒在汲淪溪旁。
