While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them.

They were the cups his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem. Belshazzar had them brought in so everyone could drink from them. 护卫长还带走了火鼎、碗等一切金银器具。

我也对祭司和全体民众说：“耶和华说，‘你们不要听信假先知骗人的预言，他们说耶和华殿里的器皿很快就要从巴比伦运回来了。你们不可听信他们的话。你们要臣服于巴比伦王，以便存活。何必使这城沦为废墟呢？如果他们真的是先知，有耶和华给他们的信息，就让他们求万军之耶和华不要使圣殿中、犹大王宫内和耶路撒冷剩余的器皿被掳到巴比伦去。’巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒把犹大王约雅敬的儿子耶哥尼雅，以及犹大和耶路撒冷的贵族从耶路撒冷掳到巴比伦去的时候，没有带走耶和华殿的铜柱、铜海、铜底座及其他器皿。

护卫长还带走了杯、火鼎、碗、盆、灯台、碟和奠酒的杯等所有金银器皿。

竟在天上的主面前自大，命人拿来祂殿里的器皿，供你和大臣、王后、妃嫔用来饮酒，并颂赞不能看、不能听、一无所知、用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所造的神明，却不尊崇赐你生命气息、掌管你一举一动的上帝。

上帝殿里的大小器皿，以及耶和华殿里、王宫里和众官员的所有珍宝，都被他带到巴比伦去了。

他们一边饮酒，一边颂赞金、银、铜、铁、木、石所造的神明。

各国都要臣服于他和他的子孙，直到他的国家灭亡。那时，许多国家和强大的君王必奴役他。

以色列王亚哈的儿子约兰执政第十二年，犹大王约兰的儿子亚哈谢登基。他二十二岁登基，在耶路撒冷执政一年。他母亲叫亚她利雅，是以色列王暗利的孙女。亚哈谢是亚哈家的女婿，他步亚哈家的后尘，做耶和华视为恶的事。

于是，但以理被带到王面前。王问他：“你就是先王从犹大掳来的但以理吗？

王啊，至高的上帝曾将国位、权力、尊荣、威严赐给你的先王尼布甲尼撒，

那年春天，尼布甲尼撒王派人把他和耶和华殿里的贵重器皿一同带到巴比伦。尼布甲尼撒另立约雅斤的叔叔西底迦做犹大和耶路撒冷的王。

你国中有一个人，他有圣洁神明的灵。先王在世时，曾发现他有神明一样的灼见、悟性和智慧。先王尼布甲尼撒立他为术士、巫师、占星家和占卜者的首领。

大卫说：“你不用害怕，我要因为和你父亲约拿单的情义而恩待你。我要把你祖父扫罗所有的田地归还给你，你要常与我同席吃饭。”

后来，他又娶了押沙龙的女儿玛迦，生了亚比雅、亚太、细撒、示罗密。

亚撒王废除了他祖母玛迦的太后之位，因为她造了可憎的亚舍拉神像。亚撒将她的神像砍倒、打碎，烧毁在汲沦溪旁。
