Because of the high position he gave him, all the nations and peoples of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death; those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled.

God gave him a high position. Then people from every nation became afraid of the king. That was true no matter what language they spoke. The king put to death anyone he wanted to. He spared anyone he wanted to spare. He gave high positions to anyone he wanted to. And he brought down anyone he wanted to bring down.

And because of the greatness that he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whom he would, he killed, and whom he would, he kept alive; whom he would, he raised up, and whom he would, he humbled.

He made him so great that people of all races and nations and languages trembled before him in fear. He killed those he wanted to kill and spared those he wanted to spare. He honored those he wanted to honor and disgraced those he wanted to disgrace.

Because of the greatness he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages were terrified and fearful of him. He killed anyone he wanted and kept alive anyone he wanted; he exalted anyone he wanted and humbled anyone he wanted.

Now because of the greatness which He granted him, all the peoples, nations, and populations of all languages trembled and feared in his presence; whomever he wished, he killed, and whomever he wished, he spared alive; and whomever he wished he elevated, and whomever he wished he humbled.

And because of the majesty that He gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished, he kept alive; whomever he wished, he set up; and whomever he wished, he put down.

不然、立投爾於洪爐、

王大怒、命取巴比倫諸哲士、置之大辟。王詔既頒、將戮哲士、遍索但以理、及其同儕、亦將加戮、

遒人大聲呼曰、民人族姓、王命爾曹、

命軍中壯士束縛三人、投諸洪爐、三人受縛、不去上下內外之衣、投於洪爐、

我今頒詔命、諸民人族姓、凡瀆沙得臘、米煞、亞伯尼坷之上帝者、必剖其體、以其室為厠、蓋無他上帝、能救人若此。

王一怒必加殺戮、故智者宜求息怒焉。

我必使我僕巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、率北方之眾、攻斯土之民、及四周鄰國、滅之殆盡、使見之者駭愕、皆作怨聲。不聞懽忭之言、新娶者及新婦之音、旋磨之聲不徹於外、燈火之光不耀於內、我使之然。四方列國必致荒蕪、使人駭愕、惟彼億兆、服事巴比倫王、歷七十年。耶和華又曰、七十年之期既屆、我降罰於巴比倫之君民、治其罪戾、使迦勒底土地荒蕪、歷久若此。昔我使先知耶利米、以列國之事、筆之於書、中有降災迦勒底之言、必有效驗。邦國眾多、列王顯赫、必使迦勒底人為其服役、視其所行、而加報施。

維彼敵人、沉湎於酒者、廉恥道喪、居心粗浮者、遨遊遠方、貪欲無藝、若陰司暗府、無日充盈焉、彼使邦國、咸歸統轄、

耶穌曰、非自上賜、爾則無權治我、故賣我者罪益大、

斯樹即王、爾既長大、堅剛無比、高大及乎九宵、權能延乎四極、

我耶和華、以巨能大力、肇造寰宇、以及庶民百獸、以地錫人、惟我所欲。我今以列邦予我僕、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、亦使野獸供役、列國之人必服事之、爰及子孫、屆滅國之期而後已、厥後邦國眾多、列王顯赫、必使巴比倫王供其服役。

居上位者、眾宜服之、非上帝則無居位者、凡居位者、皆上帝所命、
