於是博士、術士、迦勒底人、星士、咸集、我告以所夢、彼不能示我其兆、示我其兆或作為我解之

When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.

Those who try to figure things out by using magic came. So did those who study the heavens. I told all of them what I had dreamed. But they couldn’t tell me what it meant.

Then the magicians, the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the astrologers came in, and I told them the dream, but they could not make known to me its interpretation.

我使說假話者的兆頭失效，使占卜者都變成愚昧人；我使有智慧的人後退，使他們的知識變為愚拙。

‘至於你們，不可聽從你們的先知，也不可聽從占卜的、解夢的、算命的和行邪術的；他們告訴你們說：你們必不會服事巴比倫王。因為他們向你們說虛假的預言，使你們遠離你們的土地；我要趕逐你們，你們必要滅亡。

他們第二次回答王說：“請王把夢告訴僕人，我們好解釋夢的意思。”

從前閻儡和閻悖怎樣反對摩西，這些人也怎樣反對真理。他們的心思敗壞，信仰也經不起考驗。然而他們不能再這樣下去了，因為他們的愚昧終必在眾人面前顯露出來，好像那兩個人一樣。

尼布甲尼撒在位第二年，他作了夢，因此心裡煩亂，不能入睡。於是王吩咐人把術士、用法術的、行邪術的和迦勒底人都召來，要他們把王的夢告訴王。他們來了，站在王面前。

迦勒底人在王面前回答說：“世上沒有人能把王所問的事說出來，因為從來沒有一個偉大和有權勢的君王向術士、用法術的和迦勒底人詢問過這樣的事。

但以理在王面前回答說：“王所問的那隱祕的事，沒有智慧人、用法術的、術士和占星家能向王解釋；

到了早晨，法老心裡煩亂，就派人去把埃及所有的術士和智慧人都召了來；法老把自己的夢告訴他們，但是沒有人能替法老解夢。
