All the inhabitants of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he wishes with the army of heaven and with those who inhabit the earth. No one slaps his hand and says to him,‘ What have you done?’

斯世之億兆、藐乎其小、有如無物、天下軍旅、地下人民、上帝隨意而作、其取之、孰能禦之、其為之、孰能詰之、

世間萬民、視若虛無、天上萬軍、世上萬民、隨意而待、無能禦之、無能詰之曰、爾何為、

All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him:“ What have you done?”

He considers all the nations on earth to be nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven. He does what he wants with the nations of the earth. No one can hold back his hand. No one can say to him,“ What have you done?”

all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him,“ What have you done?”

All the people of the earth are nothing compared to him. He does as he pleases among the angels of heaven and among the people of the earth. No one can stop him or say to him,‘ What do you mean by doing these things?’

Our God is in heaven! He does whatever he pleases!

Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales. He lifts the coastlands as if they were dust.Not even Lebanon could supply enough firewood for a sacrifice; its wild animals would not provide enough burnt offerings.All the nations are insignificant before him; they are regarded as absolutely nothing.

“ I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted;

He does whatever he pleases in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the ocean depths.

From this day forward I am he; no one can deliver from my power; I will act, and who can prevent it?”

In Christ we too have been claimed as God’s own possession, since we were predestined according to the one purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will

to do as much as your power and your plan had decided beforehand would happen.

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how fathomless his ways!For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?Or who has first given to God, that God needs to repay him?For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever! Amen.

You will say to me then,“ Why does he still find fault? For who has ever resisted his will?”But who indeed are you– a mere human being– to talk back to God? Does what is molded say to the molder,“ Why have you made me like this?”

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.Yes, Father, for this was your gracious will.

but if it is from God, you will not be able to stop them, or you may even be found fighting against God.” He convinced them,

For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to advise him? But we have the mind of Christ.

One who argues with his creator is in grave danger, one who is like a mere shard among the other shards on the ground! The clay should not say to the potter,“ What in the world are you doing? Your work lacks skill!”Danger awaits one who says to his father,“ What in the world are you fathering?” and to his mother,“ What in the world are you bringing forth?”This is what the LORD says, the Holy One of Israel, the one who formed him, concerning things to come:“ How dare you question me about my children! How dare you tell me what to do with the work of my own hands!

If God were to set his heart on it, and gather in his spirit and his breath,all flesh would perish together and human beings would return to dust.

I look for you during the night, my spirit within me seeks you at dawn, for when your judgments come upon the earth, those who live in the world learn about justice.

Let the whole earth fear the LORD! Let all who live in the world stand in awe of him!For he spoke, and it came into existence, he issued the decree, and it stood firm.The LORD frustrates the decisions of the nations; he nullifies the plans of the peoples.The LORD’s decisions stand forever; his plans abide throughout the ages.

If he snatches away, who can turn him back? Who dares to say to him,‘ What are you doing?’God does not restrain his anger; under him the helpers of Rahab lie crushed.

The LORD who commands armies makes this solemn vow:“ Be sure of this: Just as I have intended, so it will be; just as I have planned, it will happen.I will break Assyria in my land, I will trample them underfoot on my hills. Their yoke will be removed from my people, the burden will be lifted from their shoulders.This is the plan I have devised for the whole earth; my hand is ready to strike all the nations.”Indeed, the LORD who commands armies has a plan, and who can possibly frustrate it? His hand is ready to strike, and who can possibly stop it?

who announces the end from the beginning and reveals beforehand what has not yet occurred, who says,‘ My plan will be realized, I will accomplish what I desire,’who summons an eagle from the east, from a distant land, one who carries out my plan. Yes, I have decreed, yes, I will bring it to pass; I have formulated a plan, yes, I will carry it out.

Or are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we really stronger than he is?

So Samuel told him everything. He did not hold back anything from him. Eli said,“ The LORD will do what he pleases.”

But he is unchangeable, and who can change him? Whatever he has desired, he does.

“ Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let the person who accuses God give him an answer!”

He is wise in heart and mighty in strength– who has resisted him and remained safe?

There is no wisdom and there is no understanding, and there is no counsel against the LORD.

But if God is quiet, who can condemn him? If he hides his face, then who can see him? Yet he is over the individual and the nation alike,

Therefore if God gave them the same gift as he also gave us after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to hinder God?”

He is the one who sits on the earth’s horizon; its inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. He is the one who stretches out the sky like a thin curtain, and spreads it out like a pitched tent.He is the one who reduces rulers to nothing; he makes the earth’s leaders insignificant.Indeed, they are barely planted; yes, they are barely sown; yes, they barely take root in the earth, and then he blows on them, causing them to dry up, and the wind carries them away like straw.

Do you have an arm as powerful as God’s, and can you thunder with a voice like his?Adorn yourself, then, with majesty and excellency, and clothe yourself with glory and honor!Scatter abroad the abundance of your anger. Look at every proud man and bring him low;Look at every proud man and abase him; crush the wicked on the spot!

From the place where he lives he looks carefully at all the earth’s inhabitants.

who shows no partiality to princes, and does not take note of the rich more than the poor, because all of them are the work of his hands?In a moment they die, in the middle of the night, people are shaken and they pass away. The mighty are removed effortlessly.For his eyes are on the ways of an individual, he observes all a person’s steps.There is no darkness, and no deep darkness, where evildoers can hide themselves.For he does not still consider a person, that he should come before God in judgment.He shatters the great without inquiry, and sets up others in their place.

Listen to this, all you nations! Pay attention, all you inhabitants of the world!

Now in this, you are not right– I answer you, for God is greater than a human being.Why do you contend against him, that he does not answer all a person’s words?

So he said,“ Who are you, Lord?” He replied,“ I am Jesus whom you are persecuting!

so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow– in heaven and on earth and under the earth–and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
